Thank you Angela Pearl for a deeply nourishing restorative yoga and sound bath yesterday - it was exactly what was needed, especially as the seasons begin to shift and we prepare to gently let go of the summer activity 🌸

Important to have time to slowly unwind, being held in space whilst supported by cosy blankets and props, helping to release tension in the nervous system, and allow your energy to be replenished 🌱

Looking forward to the next one ✨

Finding it difficult to sleep during the warm weather? Feeling tired yet unable to drift off? 😴

Join me next Friday 18 July 19.30-20.30 at Tutum Yoga for our monthly yoga nidrā session, an hour of deep rest and restoration ✨

Yoga nidrā, or 'yogic sleep', is an accessible and effortless horizontal meditation practice that can leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed. You'll be guided by my voice through a settling process and body scan into different states of awareness.

Whilst yoga nidrā is not a replacement for sleep, the practice helps us cycle through the different brain waves we experience in each stage of sleep, giving us a little 'top up' of energy. Yoga nidrā is a great tool for helping restore our systems and rhythms, when we feel a bit disrupted.

There is no way to do it wrong, because there isn't anything to do! Though it might appear as if you're 'doing nothing', the body and mind is deeply healing and resting - you'll receive exactly what you need from the practice.

To book (£9 each) please contact Sarah Claypole at Tutum Yoga.

Looking forward to welcoming you ❤️

Parts of a whole 💚💙💚💙

As part of our yoga teacher training course coming to an end, I wanted to create a gift for everyone as a physical reminder of the connections we have made.

I decided to make a ceramic 'wheel' of hearts at Made with Clay Studio, each heart representing a unique individual - parts that make a whole. During the last day we took time to choose a heart and share our reflections with the group on what we have learnt. A process of closure.

A way to say thank you ❤️

Yoga teacher training complete 🎉

This time last week we were celebrating the last of our yoga teacher training sessions - 300hrs studying over the past 2 years. Wow!

Congratulations to all of these wonderful and inspiring humans, who I have learnt so much from. It has been joyous, challenging and pushed me far beyond my comfort zone. I have learnt to trust myself.

A huge thank you to my family, friends and teachers who have supported and enabled me to take this step. And a big welcome to current and future students who decide to join classes with me, I'm excited to continue sharing these incredible practices with you.

Yoga is a life long learning journey, so this milestone is neither the beginning or the end. I look forward to taking a pause to embed my learning so far, reflect and soak in the experience.

Thank you all ❤️🙏🏼❤️

What is yoga nidrā?
We have a class THIS FRIDAY
at Tutum Yoga SG17 5RP with
Rhiannon Moxham - The Rest is Yoga

🗓️ Fri 27th June
🕰️ 19.30 - 20.30

Here’s a little more about what to expect at the new monthly sessions at Tutum Yoga...

What is yoga nidrā?

- Yoga nidrā, or ‘yogic sleep’, is a deeply restful and healing guided meditation, usually practised lying down.
It’s a space between waking and sleeping, a state of calm awareness where your body can rest and your mind can gently settle.
It’s a naturally arising state of consciousness, such as day dreaming!

What can I expect during the session?

- We’ll begin by settling in, Rhiannon will introduce the session, check in with you and help you get as comfortable as possible.
You will be guided through 30-40 minutes of yoga nidrā using voice, koshi bells, a reading or poem
occasional silence and cues to bring attention to your breath .
You’ll have plenty of time afterwards to sit up slowly, no rush.

Do I need to have done yoga or meditation before?

- Not at all.
Yoga nidrā is an accessible practice - no experience required and there’s no ‘right’ way to do it. Whether you feel deeply relaxed, fall asleep, or simply lie there wondering “what’s for dinner?” -
You will give your body and mind permission to rest.

Will I fall asleep?

- You might, and that’s okay! Some people doze off, others drift in and out, and some stay awake the whole time.

However you experience it, you’ll receive the calming benefits of the practice that your body and mind need ⚖️

What are the benefits?

✨ Improve sleep
✨ Reduce stress and anxiety
✨ Calm the nervous system
✨ Support emotional balance
✨ Help your brain come up with with creative problem-solving 💡

📅 Upcoming Friday Sessions (19.30–20.30):

- 27 June
- 18 July

All sessions held at Tutum Yoga, Clifton

📩 How to Book:
- Booking is directly through Sarah at Tutum Yoga
Feel free to message if you have any questions

All you need to do is turn up, lie down and rest.

Lovely to cover class on behalf of Sarah O'Connor yesterday evening - thank you for having me ✨

Our practice explored grounding and balance through the feet and legs, mahat yoga pranayama (full yogic breath) and earth salutations. Re-centering and re-balancing as we start shifting into summer from spring 🌱🌻

Recent clay creations at Made with Clay Studio ✨💛

I look forward to my studio time every fortnight and am grateful to have this ring fenced time dedicated to making.

As well as yoga, working with clay helps me to switch off and completely focus on something outside of everyday routine, without any pressure. A meditative practice in its own way.

Excited to continue exploring different building methods - pinch pots, coiling, slab - and the alchemy of glazing 🌀

Where do you find meditative moments in your life, when you're off the mat? Walking, gardening, singing, cooking, reading... Something else?
