Catherine received a The Leathersellers grant to support her whilst she was studying her nursing degree.

Having gone into nursing at a later stage in life, during her study Catherine’s two youngest children were diagnosed with autism, and her youngest with a learning disability.

This proved to be challenging, and whilst Catherine questioned whether she was cut out for nursing, ultimately it spurred her on to complete the course and set an example to her children – “if you want something hard enough, you’ll go for it and you’ll work hard for it.”
