The body holds the anxiety the mind has been ignoring or of which it has been completely unaware.
This is exactly the reason why I feel so passionately about the power of the holistic therapy work I do.
At its simplest, the very act of being still momentarily, allows us to find our breath & to pause.
At a deeper level, the nervous system, the body's central control centre to every function our body performs, begins to relax & rebalance, helping us to find clarity amongst the constant noise of the world around us.
I am always amazed at what my own personal Reflexology treatments bring to the fore for me, reflecting everything which is going on in my mind & body at a subconscious level...the feet never lie!
My daily Reiki practice does this too, bringing to my awareness anything which I am holding on to, anything which is draining my energy which I no longer need to carry. It grounds me & resets a new starting point for each day.
Because here's the thing - high levels of stress, be it conscious or unconscious, are not good for the body mentally or physically & when it is ignored, leads to dis-ease in the body and eventually this releases as illness.
So today let's pause momentarily & consider how the unavoidable stressors of living in today's world are affecting us & ask ourselves how are we looking after ourselves & our future generations?
Stress is unavoidable but avoiding a practice/activity to alleviate it isn't an option either.
