Patients should not put off coming forward for care as usual during this week’s resident doctors’ strikes.

Anyone who needs urgent but not life-threatening care should use NHS 111, where they will be directed to the most appropriate service for their needs.

Patients with life-threatening emergencies should continue to call 999 or attend A&E as normal. Services will continue to be open.

Industrial action begins at 7am on Tuesday 7 April and runs for six days until 7am on Monday 13 April.

We would like to reassure patients that these cases are very rare, and there have been no cases locally.

• Keeping vaccinations up to date
• Practising good hygiene
• Knowing the symptoms
Early symptoms can feel like flu but can worsen quickly. If concerned:

Important Travel Update – Please allow extra time for appointments

Amber Valley Borough Council have advised that the A6 in Milford (near Milford Bridge) will be closed from Monday 2 March to Wednesday 4 March, 7:30am – 4:30pm each day due to urgent tree safety work.

The closure is between The King William pub and Milford Play Area
A signed diversion will be in place via the A38

This is a very busy route and is likely to cause delays. If you have an appointment at the surgery during these dates, please leave plenty of extra time to travel.

If you are running late or unable to attend, please contact the surgery as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

🚧 The A6 in Milford, near Milford Bridge, will be closed from Monday 2 March to Wednesday 4 March, between 7:30am and 4:30pm each day, while we carry out urgent tree safety works.

Following professional assessment, a number of trees growing on and above the rock face behind properties on Makeney Road have been found to pose a risk to nearby homes and to the road below.

Because of where the trees are positioned, the only safe way to remove them is by using a crane positioned in the A6. This means a full road closure is necessary during the hours above.

We know this is a very busy route and this closure will be disruptive. We would not take this step unless it was essential. However, keeping residents, road users and nearby properties safe has to come first.

➡️ The closure will affect the A6 between the King William pub and Milford Play Area. The signed diversion route will be via the A38.

Please allow extra time for your journey, follow the signed diversions and avoid the area during these hours if you can.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while this important safety work is carried out.
