🚧 The A6 in Milford, near Milford Bridge, will be closed from Monday 2 March to Wednesday 4 March, between 7:30am and 4:30pm each day, while we carry out urgent tree safety works.
Following professional assessment, a number of trees growing on and above the rock face behind properties on Makeney Road have been found to pose a risk to nearby homes and to the road below.
Because of where the trees are positioned, the only safe way to remove them is by using a crane positioned in the A6. This means a full road closure is necessary during the hours above.
We know this is a very busy route and this closure will be disruptive. We would not take this step unless it was essential. However, keeping residents, road users and nearby properties safe has to come first.
➡️ The closure will affect the A6 between the King William pub and Milford Play Area. The signed diversion route will be via the A38.
Please allow extra time for your journey, follow the signed diversions and avoid the area during these hours if you can.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while this important safety work is carried out.
