It's been a fantastic 2025 here at ResTech Services Ltd. Many sites have been covered, many clients supported and a growing team of expert rescue technicians added to, with new colleagues coming into the business carrying on our ethos of 'Safety In Place', everytime.

Throughout the year the team continued to provide expert Confined Space Rescue and Support Cover across London & the South East of England.

Alongside the core of our business we've also spent countless hours providing professional consulting, water rescue, working at height to supplement our growing work bank.

In the spring we moved to a purpose built, high spec premesis enabling us to grow further with new equipment, vehicles and support staff catered for perfectly located ideally in South Essex.

At the start of the year we engaged with one of the biggest principal contractors in the UK who required an end to end solution to a challanging project they are managing. Completing nearly 3000 man hours on site which allowed us to grow further.

We've engaged with current, and a host of new clients, who love our approach to professional working and putting safety at the heart of every project we cover.

2026 will see us grow further, with new services provided, including a dedicated in house team providing enabling works to allow for safe access into confined spaces.

We also have some big news that we will be announcing in the new year, so watch this space.

Did you know we also carry out enabling works to ensure safe confined space entries?

As part of a package of works we're covering in Essex, ResTech Services Ltd are providing enabling works teams to 'de-water' a series of large culverts to allow a team of maintenance engineers access to carry out flood prevention works.

Providing everything on site from high volume water pumps, removable dams, water rescue team cover and confined space rescue teams our operatives have been working day and night to ensure our client can get into the areas they need safely to carry out vital works.

Sometimes it's just safer not to enter a confined space!

As part of a package of works we're undertaking for a local authority client, confined space entries were required to ascertain the extent of a large culvert in Mid-Essex to plan the access/egress points for a future conditions survey and minor works.

Our risk assessment team decided that a person entry was not feasible due to the diameter of the culvert, and the unreliable information as to what (if any) hazards were present.

To negate this, we teamed up with Ben Stanleyj and his team from Go-Flow Drainage LTD to conduct a CCTV crawler survey to gather more information about the best access/egress, and get an idea of what the team can expect when they enter the space to carry out their works in the near future.

A plan will be put into place to use alternative access points for any further entries, which may include creating additional person entry points throughout the culvert.

Due to continous growth across the sector we're looking to add to our roster of Confined Space Rescue Technicians.

Supporting clients across London and South East of England you'll be a crucial part of a dedicated, professional rescue organisation trusted with the safety of those entering confined spaces on the sites we cover.

You'll need to hold, or be willing to gain the below competencies;

✅City and Guilds Level 2 Award in Working in High Risk Confined Spaces (6160-03)✅

✅City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Working as a Member of a Rescue and Recovery Team in Confined Spaces (6160-08)✅

✅A mimum of FREC3, (or emergency services equivalent ✅

✅Have a background in the UK Emergency Services ✅

✅A full UK Driving License ✅

If you also hold competencies in Rope Acces/Rescue and Water Rescue that would be a desirable advantage.

It's been the busiest period we've ever faced recently, our Confined Space Rescue and Support Teams have been working hard alongside various clients across London, Surrey, Essex and Kent providing expert cover to a variety of different sites.

As well as continuing with assisting ongoing projects, last week saw the start of an opportunity working alongside a new client overseeing works across Central London deep underground.

Thursday night saw the introduction of a brand new piece of equipment which will assist our clients and us when working within road closures and the need to access various confined spaces via manholes against a strict deadline.

The 'NellyLift' was put on the run, a towable, detachable quad pod designed, manufactured and certified by Lee Watkins and his team, this vital piece of safety equipment will be on site working alongside our Rescue Teams for the foreseeable.

Feedback so far has been excellent. Later this week we will be dedicating a post to it, showcasing it's versatility and features.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Rescue Teams recently, keeping our clients safe whilst promoting our positive, engaging culture.

It's been an exceptionally busy few weeks for the team at ResTech Services Ltd.

Our Confined Space Rescue Teams have been out across sites in London, Kent, Essex and Surrey.

This week one of our on-call teams responded to a request for confined space support to a site in .

On site within 2 hours our team managed entries into a series of for a team of engineers carrying out urgent works to ensure the road could be opened in time for the morning rush hour.

One of our expert rescue teams has been providing confined space rescue cover at a large food processing facility in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk this week.

Overseeing essential maintenance, pest control and cleaning by various entrants the team were on standby to act in case of an emergency, whilst also providing contractor management, along with equipment supply.

This week one of our expert Confined Space Rescue Teams are in Manchester at a large museum providing cover to a new client whilst they carry out survey works in a large Undercroft complex beneath the museum.

We are asked to assist with making safe the entire confined space area before their team of surveyors could carry out the works.

Our risk assessment highlighted the need for comprehensive atmosphere testing, the installation of 110v site lighting and removing all large trip hazards reducing to risk of indicents on site.

When working in confined spaces it's important to introduce as many control measures as possible!
