BAYoga Studio BAY YOGA STUDIO BAYoga Studio is a beautiful dedicated yoga studio in the heart of Berkhamsted (above costa coffee).

BAYoga offers different styles of yoga for everyone in a warm and friendly environment, regardless of age, fitness, gender or lifestyle. There are 2 therapy rooms offering acupuncture, life coaching and counselling and we are looking for more therapists to add to our team. There will be a dedicated pilates equipment studio shortly.

Mid-way through the week we shine a light on the brilliant Emily Lacey - Women's Health & Movement Specialist ✨️

Born and raised in Jersey, Emily spent over two decades working in the finance industry before choosing to follow a more purpose-driven path. After becoming a mother, she experienced first-hand the physical and emotional challenges many women face, as well as the lack of accessible support for female health and wellbeing. Inspired by this experience, she retrained as a personal trainer in 2018 and has since dedicated her career to supporting women through every stage of life.

During several years living in Asia with her family, Emily further developed her expertise in yoga and Pilates, refining a holistic approach that blends strength, mobility, and mindful movement.

Emily now specialises in women’s health, with particular focus on pre- and post-natal recovery, as well as premenopausal and menopausal fitness. Through ongoing collaboration with leading female health professionals, she has developed a deep understanding of the female body and its changing needs throughout life.

Her approach is both supportive and empowering, creating a calm and welcoming environment where clients can reconnect with their bodies. Combining the strengthening benefits of Pilates — with particular attention to the core and pelvic floor — alongside the restorative qualities of yoga, Emily’s sessions are designed to build strength, restore balance, and promote long-term wellbeing.

Every Friday at 4-4.45pm - we host 45 mins of stretching, partner work, fun games, relaxation and offer a chance for kids to learn early on the magic of a regular yoga practise, and notice how it makes them feel ✨

Happy Friday - you made it to the weekend! 🙌

A double teacher spotlight from us this week featuring Nina today ✨️

Nina first discovered yoga in the buzz of her former home, New York—as a way to escape the pace and intensity of city life.

After years of turning to yoga as a refuge from a demanding corporate career, she followed that inner pull to make it her path. Leaving the fast-paced world behind, she stepped into a more intentional way of living—one rooted in movement, connection, and purpose. She later deepened her practice in the soul of Bali, where she completed an intensive immersion training that would ultimately change the course of her life.

Her teaching is grounded, spacious, and always from the heart. Nina creates a welcoming, judgement-free space where you can arrive exactly as you are—no performance, just practice. Passionate about making yoga accessible to every body, she is also Bay’s resident teens teacher, supporting younger students with the same sense of encouragement, confidence, and care.

She guides her classes with a strong focus on alignment and safety, while weaving in lightness and humour along the way. Her classes are designed to gently challenge and support you, helping you build strength, confidence, and a deeper connection to yourself.

Outside of yoga, Nina is a mum of two teenagers, along with a lively cocker spaniel and a cat. She loves being out in nature—especially long walks in the woods—and has a deep appreciation for nourishing, wholesome food.

Alongside her yoga teaching, Nina is also building a travel business rooted in her love for exploration, freedom, and meaningful experiences. Whether through yoga or travel, she is deeply fulfilled by creating moments that shift how people feel—in their bodies, in their minds, and in their lives.

It's always so wonderful hearing about our teachers unique stories of what led them to where they are today. 🫶

Next week we restart our popular 6 week Teen Yoga course! We first started this course because we realised there aren’t many dedicated yoga classes for teens and we wanted to change that ✨

Hope you all had a lovely Easter break! 🐣

This week we hear from Mat Pilates Teacher Beth Lomax ✨️

"Hi, I'm Beth, I teach group Pilates mat work on a Monday & Thursday at BAYoga. If you attend my classes you can expect focused controlled movement, concentrating on the fundamentals and alignment of each exercise; along with a little bit of challenge each week.

Outside of Pilates you might see me managing a canal side run or attending a yoga class. I also love to be curled up with a good book, and can easily read through one a day when given the chance.

I may have a slight obsession with French Bulldogs and all things food; so, you'll usually catch me eating or planning what I'm going to eat. Warm sunny destinations are a favourite, as well as time with my friends (preferably dancing) and partner."
