One in four workers in the UK feel stressed more days than they feel calm, according to Ciphr. There are all kinds of factors behind this, including:

- feeling undervalued or wages not meeting the cost of living

- increasing workloads and a poor work-life balance

- conflict with colleagues or management

- feeling that the work itself is pointless or unsatisfying

Almost all of us, at some time, feel at least one of these while at work. Counselling can’t drop the dream job in your hands, but it can help you build the confidence and resilience to handle the stresses work throws at us, and help you decide whether to look for something new!

Hello! I’m Frankie, counsellor at One River.

I am a registered BACP counsellor with additional training in working with BPD.

During my training I worked at a mental health hub in Scarborough, and have since worked in schools and colleges across Hull & East Yorkshire.

I am excited to train in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in the future, and build One River into a quality counselling service.

Christmas can be the time when loneliness and isolation hit hardest. We may be surrounded by people but still feel alone.

Whether you’re finding it hard without people who are no longer around, feeling misunderstood by those you are with, or you’re simply struggling to build up your social circle, counselling can help.
