Dynamic Mobilisation Exercises ~
• improve range of motion
• increase core engagement
• improve spinal mobility
• improve spinal flexibility
• improve balance
• identify weaknesses
• stretch neck and spinal muscles
• improves coordination
DME’s allow for the monitoring of progress when a weaker or tighter side has been assessed.
Preferred aid is a lick as snatches can occur when using a treat or carrot. Licks avoid sharp, sudden pulls and the movement is fluid, easier to hold and allows for a deeper stretch 💪🏼
It is IMPORTANT to always warm up before doing DME’s whether that’s a 5 minute in hand walk, 5 mins of gentle massage, doing them post exercise or after a horse has been in the field etc.
