Sun protection simplified: why mineral based SPF is my go to choice…

Not all sunscreens are created equally, so therefore it is important to know what works best for you and your skin health.

🌱Zinc Oxide and titanium oxide is a natural occurring mineral, free from hormone-disrupting chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate, often found in chemical sunscreens
🌱Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide blocks both UVA and UVB rays effectively. Chemical sunscreens absorbs the rays creating heat before neutralising the harmful rays.
🌱because these minerals are natural, it is non irritating and ideal for sensitive skins especially those who suffers from rosacea
🌱it is stable, meaning it doesn’t degrade like chemical filters do under sun exposure.
🌱mineral sunscreens are also ideal for skins that suffers from pigmentation and melasma, as it does not create heat or inflammation with in the skin, which are the main triggers for these conditions.

My favourite is clear shield and it works perfectly with my darker skin tone.

A wonderful outcome for my client who scaled her hand with hot steam 6 months ago, she was so worried she would be scarred for life. With quick thinking we avoided infection, the use of antibiotics and possible scarring.

My Byonik pulsed triggered laser treatments has been a huge benefit in helping my clients skin to heal effectively whether it’s acne, sensitivity, rosacea and in this case, trauma to the skin.

improving the skins barrier function is always my first step to achieving good results with any skin conditions.

For this case I used byonik laser and 2x ecto repair treatments. The ecto repair utilises ectoin to provide the skin with long term hydration and protection creating an environment where the skin is able to heal effectively.

Result - healthy, smooth new skin. Over time skin will become mature and colour will improve.
