Did you know:
In the summer, individuals with asthma may experience exacerbations of their condition due to increased pollen levels, air pollution, and hot weather, all of which can trigger asthma symptoms like breathlessness and wheezing.
summer asthma triggers:
1. Pollen:
Pollen levels peak during summer, Antihistamines and steroid nasal sprays can be helpful in managing pollen-related asthma triggers
2. Air Pollution:
Hot and sunny weather can increase ozone levels and other air pollutants, which can irritate airways and worsen asthma symptoms.
3. Hot Weather:
High temperatures and humidity can affect breathing and exacerbate asthma symptoms. Staying hydrated, wearing loose clothing, and avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can help manage the effects of hot weather.
4. Other Summer Triggers:
Thunderstorms: Sudden changes in weather, including thunderstorms, can trigger asthma attacks in some individuals.
Barbecue smoke and outdoor cigarette smoke: These can also irritate airways and worsen asthma symptoms.
Chlorine in pools: Some individuals may experience asthma triggers from inhaling chlorine in swimming pools.

Drying washing outside rather than on radiators or on clothes maidens can be a good way of reducing damp in your home.
Damp can lead to mould which can affect respiratory health.
If you do not have any outdoor space in which to dry washing, then opening a window regularly can help.
