People often ask, “While you’re in the hearse, are you allowed to speak?”
And honestly… YES. We do. A lot.

We talk about everything, the funeral we’re on, upcoming services, jobs waiting for us back at the office, and occasionally the meaning of life (if the traffic’s bad enough.)

So, yesterday while on the way to Landican Crematorium, Lee and I (John) were chatting about a few little jobs that needed doing. Lee casually says, “When we get back, I’ll give the garage a quick tidy.”

A quick tidy, he says.

Fast‑forward to my return… and I turn into our drive to find the garage completely empty, Lee standing there like a superhero with a leaf blower, looking very pleased with himself.

Two things hit me at once:

So THIS is his idea of “quick”.

He’s actually used his head — time and motion, industrial efficiency, borderline chaos… but effective.

Now, the point of this story isn’t that we now have a garage you could perform surgery in. It’s that these little things matter. They’re part of how we keep our standards high and deliver on our commitment to the families we serve.

Because after blasting every speck of dust from the floor, Lee then polished our immaculate Mercedes limousine so well you can literally see the colours of our beautiful building reflected in it.

All thanks to one man, one leaf blower, and a “quick tidy”.

💚 In Loving Memory of Agnes Hellon 💚

Our beautiful Agnes passed peacefully with all her family around her. She is now reunited with her mum and dad, and her grandson Christopher.

Agnes was a beloved mum to Philip, Richard, Jane and Sharon, a devoted Nan to her 14 grandchildren, and a proud great‑grandmother to her 10 great‑grandchildren.

We will be celebrating her life on:
📍 Landican Crematorium – South Chapel
📅 Friday 8th May 2026
⏰ 3:30pmFamily flowers only, please.

Only close family and friends will be invited to follow from Nan/Agnes’s home. Anyone who is part of the cortege will receive the details directly from the family.

For anyone who cannot be there in person, a live stream link will be available. Please message Jodi if you would like the details.

At the wake, we’ll be playing a few games of bingo in Agnes’s honour — something she always enjoyed. All money raised will be donated to Claire House in her name.

💚 We kindly ask everyone to wear something green, her favourite colour, to help us celebrate her life in a way she would have loved. 💚
