After Sinead shared her birth story with you, she also generously shared these gorgeous images from the minutes after her beautiful daughter arrived.

I took these photos as her, and her Mum just soaked up the moments. Nothing beats the feeling of new life arriving earthside.

Being able to be by women's sides as they welcome their babes and become mothers is such a privilege.

Have you thought about using water in your labour and birth?

In my opinion it is nowhere near widely available enough (too few pools in units) or encouraged enough (women discouraged for 'risks' that don't actually get 'riskier' in water or weren't really 'risky' in the first place) ..... this is why I say check your local hospital stats to see how well they are using water!

You don't need to be using hypnobirthing, aiming for quiet & serene or birthing at home.

Now you might find it doesn't work for you, that's fine, you just get out.

But when it does feel good, it can be AMAZING. A calm, gentle arrival for baby's who often arrive in water super chill & quiet. Partners can get in and be fully present with you, holding, supporting and experiencing the moment. Just incredible

In a world where we rush around and try to fit too much in, a baby’s ‘due date’ has come to be seen by some people as a kind of appointment.

Statistically, only 5% of babies are born on their due date and many healthy babies are born after this.

I sometimes suggest that people plan to do something nice on their baby’s due date; there’s a really high chance that you’ll be free to do it!

But the important thing to remember is that, on the whole, our bodies and our babies’ bodies know what they’re doing.
