Behind the blowdrys and the good bits is a rollercoaster nobody sees…

Here is mineπŸ‘‡πŸ˜
Social media only ever shows the good bits.
The highlight, the glow up, the finished product.

Never the rollercoaster behind it.
And yes the blowdry is 30 minutes of much needed therapy. Sometimes the only time in the day that is just for me πŸ™.

Here is what nobody sees:
⏰ 5am alarm to fit movement in
🏠 Chores crammed in before work
πŸ’Ό Full on corporate day
🍽️ Dinner eaten standing up most the time.
🧹 Chores again after work because they never end
πŸ’» Clients supported, business built, even still in gym kit sometimes.
πŸ˜… House somewhere between lived in and chaos.

This is the messy middle nobody posts about.
The bit between starting and arriving, there will never be a perfect time.

Life will always be full.
The chaos will always be there.
You just have to build in the middle of it.

Because that is where everything real gets made πŸ™Œ.

Drop a πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ if your highlight reel hides chaos too
Save this as your reminder to start anyway πŸ“Œ

Skipping lunch feels like discipline, but it is actually costing you your progressπŸ‘‡.

No time for lunch, too busy, saving calories for later…sound familiar?

Here is what is actually happening.
Blood sugar drops, energy crashes, hunger spikes by 3pm.
Then by evening you eat everything in sight 😭.

The calories you thought you were saving, gone and then some 😭.

So here is what to do instead:
Keep it simple, keep it quick, keep it protein led.

πŸ’« Ready cooked chicken tikka chunks (87g)
πŸ’« Reduced fat Greek salad cheese (27g)
πŸ’«1x Mini wrap
πŸ’« 100g salad
πŸ’« Dollop of reduced fat sour cream (45g)

336 calories, 32g protein, Done in under 5 minutes.

And if you do not want to chop - buy ready prepared salad. Zero shame, Zero excuses.

And if you fancy some crisps on the side, chuck them in. I had quavers at 84 calories, worth every bit πŸ™.

High protein keeps you full, full means no 3pm crash.
No crash means no evening spiral.

That is the whole strategy.
Your body needs fuel through the day.

Your health deserves more than running on empty.

Drop a πŸ™‹ if you are a lunch skipper
Save this for your next busy lunch hour πŸ“Œ

What if this is the chapter where everything goes right πŸ™.

I tried to get back into running so many times over the years.
Started, stopped, life got in the way, winter season.

Told myself I would try again next week/year.
But year was different, not because conditions were perfect…they were not.

But because I stopped waiting for perfect and just started.
Run club changed everything.

Accountability, community, showing up even on the days I did not feel like it. People who made the hard thing feel less hard.

And here is what I want you to take from this.
The thing you keep starting and stopping.

It is not because you lack discipline.
It is because you have been trying to do it alone.

Find your people, start before you feel ready.
Let the community carry you on the days you cannot carry yourself.

What if this really is the chapter where everything goes right 🫢.

Drop a πŸƒ if run club changed things for you too

The one thing I talked myself out of for months even though I knew it would help me πŸ₯Ή.

I bought an Osmo Pocket 2 months ago, It’s still in the box.

Because technical things overwhelm me and overwhelm is really good at keeping you exactly where you are.

First attempt was fumbly and awkward, I had no idea what I was doing.

But it was out of the box, so a step forwards.
That mattered more than doing it perfectly, then I started finding my feet.

Getting comfortable with uncomfortable.
Watching tutorials, learning, until it just clicked.

Here is what actually helped me get through the overwhelm:
🫢 Start before you feel ready.
🫢 Give yourself permission to be bad at it first.
🫢 Set a timer for 10 minutes and just play around.
🫢 Stop waiting to know everything before you begin.

This is true of anything worth doing.
Weight loss, business, fitness, life.

The overwhelm at the start is not a sign to stop. It is a sign you are doing something that matters.

You do not start confident, you just start.
And confidence follows πŸ™.

Drop a 🫢 if fear has kept something in the box too long
Save this as your sign to open it πŸ“Œ

The most underrated form of exercise…and it may have also included coffee & cake πŸ˜‡.

Still recovering (I know I’m boring myself 😭) and could not run today.

So I took myself off for a walk instead.
Free, accessible and everyone can do it.
No gym, no equipment, no excuses πŸ’ͺ.

From feeling sluggish and needing to move at the start, to full of beans by the end.

Mindset clear, head sorted, day transformed.
Oh and I caught the sun β˜€οΈ

Stopped halfway for a coffee and fruit cake.
Because it does not have to be boring or miserable 😭.
It can be social, enjoyable & something you look forward to 🎊.

Instead of spending Sunday scrolling or textingπŸ“±.
Grab a friend and get outdoors for a walk and talk coffee date β˜•οΈ.

Same conversation, fresh air. Moving your body & feeling good.
Movement does not have to be intense to count.
It just has to happen 🫢

Drop a 🚢 if walking is your thing

Last year I did not feel pretty in pink, that is why this dress stayed hidden πŸ‘€

Super figure hugging, showing every lump and bump (EVERYTHING 😭).

So it stayed at the back of the wardrobe while I pretended it did not exist. And if I had not made changes it would have stayed there this year too.

So I just kept showing up, long distance runs built up gradually, Hyrox sessions added in.

Consistent with training, consistent with nutrition.
Not perfectly, just consistently.

Today I put it on and it was a different story.
Took Bruno out in the sunshine and felt completely comfortable.

Small consistent changes was the real winner. Not a dramatic overhaul, not a quick fix.

Just showing up, again and again πŸ™.
No scales required, this is the real measure of progress πŸ’ͺ.

Drop a πŸ‘— if you have a dress like this.
Save this for the next time the scale does not move πŸ“Œ.

Too late, too hard, too far gone…Trust the process πŸ™

This did not happen overnight.
It did not happen through restriction or punishment.

It happened through small consistent changes.
Through doing the inner work.

Through learning to work with my body instead of against it.
Through trusting the process even on the days it felt impossible.

And here is what I want you to hear.
There is no limit on what is possible for you.…None πŸ’ͺ.

The only thing standing between where you are and where you want to be…is the decision to start.

And the courage to keep going when it gets hard.

You are capable of so much more than you have been told or will ever believe 🫢.

Drop a 😘 if you needed this today
Save this for the days it feels impossible πŸ“Œ

I ate bread and butter with every single meal for years…BUT It was never really about the bread πŸ‘‡.

I grew up in a household where bread and butter was on the table with EVERYTHING.

It filled us up, bulked out the meal, feda big family. And I took that habit straight into adulthood without ever questioning it.

Until I started asking why.

Here is what I found:
‼️ I wasnt eating enough through the day.
So by the time I got home I was starving and reached for the fastest thing available.

‼️ Food had become comfort.
Not just fuel.

The two had blurred completely and that is the bit nobody talks about.

Most women who cut out bread think bread is the problem.
It rarely is, the emotional connection to food is.

Now I enjoy bread most days.
Because understanding the why changed everything.
A chip butty will never not be on the menu πŸ‘Œ πŸ˜‚

Does this resonate?

Changing room mirrors are nobody’s friend. But this used to break me 🫢.

The lighting feeling like a spotlight.
The mirror becoming somewhere to pick yourself apart.

Every bit you would never say out loud to someone you love.
Said to yourself without a second thought.

Every woman I have ever worked with knows this feeling.
Every single one.
That voice is not truth.

It is a pattern built over years.
And patterns can be unlearned.

Now I know the mirrors are not flattering.
So I just focus on the outfit.

That shift did not happen overnight.
It took real work on the inside πŸ™

Drop a πŸ’› if you know this feeling

Most women choose the soup, diet culture told them to πŸ˜“.
Here is what it never told them though πŸ‘‡.

Soup feels like the sensible choice, lean, light, responsible.
But it is low in protein which means hunger spikes fast.

And we all add the bread and butter because dunking is the best bit 🀩.

Suddenly the picture looks very different.

Here is the comparison:
🍡 Soup and bread
197kcal soup - add bread and butter and you are looking at around 457kcal and just 11g protein.

Hungry again within the hour, guaranteed.

πŸ— Nando’s style chicken, potatoes and salad with all the sauces I just plonked on πŸ™ˆ.
409kcal, 33g protein.
Fuller for longer, no afternoon snack attack, no spiral.

Similar calories, very different outcome.

I used to choose the soup every single time, because that is what we were told.

Stay small, feel hungry, start again Monday.

I am not saying never have the soup, it’s one of my favourites.
But understanding what your food actually does for you changes everything.

A satisfying meal is never too much food.
It is the whole strategy πŸ‘Œ.

Drop a πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ if you have been choosing the soup for years
Save this for your next lunch decision πŸ“Œ

4k to 17k, I could not tell you how I got there …and that is exactly the point πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

It started with stop/start runs alone.
Then run club - Out of breath, Last every time, Definitely skipping the optional extra bit to round upto the next km πŸ˜‚.

Added an extra club in the summer and was a beginner all over again.

Last over the line every single week and I was prepared to be.
Because I was hitting personal bests every time.

The gap was closing, I just kept showing up.

Someone asked me recently how I got from 4k to 17k.
Honestly I could not tell them, because I never looked at the whole distance.

Just the next step.
That is true of any journey.

You do not go from beginner to advanced overnight.
You just have to be willing to start.

To learn, To change, To be last for a while.
The transformation only looks dramatic from the outside.

From the inside it just felt like showing up πŸ™.

This week slowed me down, but It did not stop me πŸ’ͺ.

Not my usual 100 miles an hour self, Illness had other ideas πŸ€’.

So last night instead of working, I closed the laptop. Listened to my body and rested properly. And woke up today feeling genuinely more energised.

Bruno walk still non negotiable, training session done (just about), work block caught up on with sharper mind.
Gentle movement, fresh air & movie night tonight is good for the soul 🎬🐢🐾.

Run tomorrow still to be assessed.
But we will get there, It is all fixable.

Lots still done this week with boxes ticked off, meals still on point (thanks to prep).

The pace picks up again next week when I am back on full form. And this is exactly true on a weight loss journey.

There will be weeks that slow you down.
Illness, life, overwhelm.

Listen to your body, Rest when it asks you to.
Then get back up and keep going πŸ‘Œ.

Drop a 🫢 if rest felt like the right call this week
Save this for the next time life slows you down πŸ“Œ
