Gaynor Lane - The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan Take that step towards becoming a slimmer, healthier and more confident YOU!! Food has always been my comfort blanket, something I turn to following a crisis.

As I get older and, dare I say, wiser, I realise food is not the answer. Happiness is not hiding in a family sized block of chocolate! With the help of my own 1:1 consultant, I learnt so much about my relationship with food and have come to appreciate the importance of a healthy diet and pain-free knees! I lost weight once on the Plan and felt fantastic, but following a couple of tough years, including a full abdominal hysterectomy leading straight into the menopause, I put a lot of my weight back on. When I turned into a total couch-potato during the first lockdown in 2020, feeling miserable and lethargic, I decided enough is enough and I got back on plan. By April 2021 I had lost 5 stone and 3 pounds and I felt AMAZING! Nothing beats the feeling when friends and family compliment you on your weight loss. I remember when someone said "you look like a different person". The truth is, I feel like a different person. Not only can I wear lovely, fitted, clothes, I have bags more energy and a TONNE more confidence!! I LOVE the plan, so much so that I decided to become a consultant myself to help others lose weight and FEEL the way I do. Apart from the occasional small gains at Christmas, or following holidays, I have been maintaining my weight loss for nearly 3 years. I am so energised and I love the diet so much that I have no doubt I will continue to maintain my goal weight. So… this happened recently! 🎉

I honestly can’t believe I’ve now been a Consultant with The 1:1 Diet for 5 years.

After losing 5 stone on the Plan myself, becoming a Consultant felt like the most natural next step. I’d struggled with my weight for years, and once I’d experienced not only the physical transformation but the mental shift too, I knew I wanted to help others feel that same change.

Losing the weight didn’t just change how I looked — it completely changed my confidence, my mindset and my outlook on life. That positivity is something I’ve been passionate about passing on ever since.

Becoming self-employed as an Independent Consultant was definitely scary at first. Walking away from the security of a regular salary and learning how to run my own business pushed me well outside my comfort zone. But it has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made.

The greatest privilege of all? Supporting so many incredible people to improve their health, reach their happy weight and grow in confidence along the way.

March is Sleep Awareness Month – the perfect reminder that good sleep is essential for overall health, including weight management. 💤

If you’re struggling to lose weight, sleep might be the missing piece of the puzzle.

When you don’t get enough rest, your body produces more ghrelin (the hormone that increases hunger) and less leptin (the hormone that signals fullness). This imbalance can lead to stronger cravings, overeating, and poor food choices.

Lack of sleep can also slow metabolism and affect how your body processes carbohydrates, making weight loss more difficult.

Prioritising quality sleep can help support your weight loss goals by improving energy levels, appetite control, and decision-making around food.

I get so excited buying new clothes and I love it when friends and family that I haven’t seen for ages, barely recognise me!

Despite the very wet weather, I absolutely love this time of year! When I’m out dog walking, I love seeing all of the beautiful spring flowers starting to bloom! 🌸
