The 2024/2025 season has officially come to a close with the conclusion of the Goalfix Cup last weekend 🏆.
A huge congratulations to Fen Tigers Goalball on being crowned the Goalfix Cup Champions 2025!👏🐯.

It was a challenging start to the weekend for Birmingham, with tough ganes against the London elephants and Fen Tigers. However, the team showed true grit and bounced back with a well-earned win over The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) 💪.
Day two saw another strong performance with a victory against Phoenix Blaze 🔥, before falling just short in the bronze medal match against Northern allstars Goalball club, positioning 4th overall ⭐️.
From the very beginning of the season to the final whistle this past weekend, the growth and development from every player whether on court or off, has been incredible to witness. From the sidelines, the progress has been clear and inspiring 🙌

A heartfelt thank you to Emer, our head coach, for all your dedication this season. You’ve been amazing, continually developing your own understanding of the game while bringing the best out of the squad 🙏🎯

Last week, we were thrilled to announce that our Goalball broadcast had gone live on BBC Sounds which was a milestone for our club and more recognition for the sport. Today, we’re equally excited to share that the accompanying article is now available to read, and it features some very familiar faces from our recent training session.
A heartfelt thank you once again to BBC Birmingham for taking such a keen interest in the impact of Goalball.
Goalball is more than just a game, it’s a way of building connection, confidence and community. It beats isolation by offering a space where people can come together, support one another, and thrive through sport. We were absolutely delighted to welcome Maddy from to our training session on Saturday who came along to learn more about the fantastic sport of Goalball. It was great to see the passion and curiosity she brought — interviews were recorded, plenty of photos taken, and we can’t wait to hear it all on the radio soon. We’ll be sharing the links once everything goes live, so keep an eye out and thanks Maddy once again for coming along!
A massive thank you as well to our amazing friends from London Goalball and who travelled to join us. Your energy and commitment helped make the day really special.

The mini tournament we held was nothing short of intense with every game being fiercely competitive with some brilliant performances on show. It was great to see players pushing each other, celebrating teamwork, and showing exactly why Goalball is such an exciting and inclusive sport.

Thanks again to everyone who made it such a memorable day, whether you played, supported, or helped out behind the scenes.

That’s a wrap on the 2024/25 Super League season!
This weekend marked the final competition of the season, and what a way to bring it to a close. Here’s a quick recap of our results: Day 1: •Loss vs (14-12)
•Loss vs the London elephants (13-10)
•Win vs goalball (16-10) Day 2:
•Loss vs Northern Allstars (13-8)
•Loss vs Fen Tigers (13-8) Despite not having a full-strength squad due to illness, we battled hard and came away with 4th place across the weekend.

Huge congratulations to the whole team for putting in strong, determined performances throughout. Your hard work and resilience really shone through!

Special shoutouts go to: • Alex , named Player of the Weekend, recognised for her fantastic impact on court!
• Jalal , who finished as joint top male goal scorer in Division A, a great achievement! We’re also celebrating a big milestone, finishing 3rd overall in the 2024/25 Super League season , an improvement on last year’s result. This progress is down to the dedication and effort of our players, and the brilliant guidance of our coaching team.

A huge thank you to Emer as head coach and nansi as assistant coach, who’ve both coached the team with passion and focus throughout the season. And as always, endless appreciation goes to all the volunteers and referees, your time and commitment make these events possible, and we’re incredibly grateful.

🏆 Intermediate South 2024/2025 Champions! 🏆
What an incredible season it’s been! We’re thrilled to be crowned the Intermediate South Champions for the second season in a row after an amazing set of games. The results speak for themselves:

🔵 10:2 vs Oxfordshire Goalball Club.
🔵 13:3 vs Cambridge Dons Goalball Club (gown).
🔵 7:2 vs Cambridge Town.
🔵 And in a thrilling final 8:5 vs Wi******er Goalball Club.
Every game was a battle, and we couldn’t be prouder of the team’s performance. Huge shoutout to all the teams for bringing their A-game and making this season one to remember! 💪🔥

A massive thank you to our coach for the season from the incredible Fen Tigers Goalball Jo roper for his enthusiasm and coaching the team to this victory.
