Today we had a visit from the Environmental Health Inspectors, and just like 18 months ago, we’ve been awarded the top rating – 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🎉

A massive thank you to our amazing kitchen team – Tracey, Maxine, Marion, Dal, Reji and Vikki – for the care, effort and pride you put into everything you do 👩‍🍳👏❤️.

And to all of our wonderful staff – I truly couldn’t run this home without your dedication and hard work. You are the heart of this place and I’m so proud of you 🙏💙.

For our residents, families and community, this rating shows our continued commitment to providing the very best standards of care, safety and support 🌟.

I don’t often share here, but lately I’ve been reflecting on the moments in care that really stay with you — the kind that remind you why we do this work.

At Prince of Wales, we’ve always valued real connection — long before “social value” became a buzzword.

🎓 For over 15 years, I’ve worked with Solihull College & University Centre, supporting Health & Social Care students through placements.

Through the Solihull Managers’ Forum, which I’ve led for 9 years, I’ve also helped connect other care homes across the borough with the college.

🧑‍🎓 We welcomed young adults from Calthorpe Academy (pre-Covid), and supported them and in addition their visits brought energy and joy into our home.

🏫 Our ongoing partnership with Peterbrook Primary School has been just as special — seeing our residents light up as they sing, paint, and connect with the children is always a highlight.

👶 We’ve also worked with nursery-aged children, and after a recent visit, we’re excited to rebuild that link again.

💬 These connections lift our residents, re-energise our staff, and bring peace of mind to families — reminding us that care is about more than routines; it’s about community.

❤️ These are the moments that matter. I’ll be sharing more in the months ahead — and always open to connect or collaborate with others who value care, purpose, and people.
