Health Awareness months are great for so many reasons :
Pro's

2. Can generate fund raising opportunities to further scientific research
3. The month may prompt an individual struggling with this condition or experiencing symptoms to pluck up the courage to seek medical advice
4. Can prompt policy changes within an organisation
5. Can prompt organisations to run workshops for that month
Con's
1. It can feel like it's a tick boxing exercise in order to stay current which may feel a bit insincere to the person experiencing the condition.
2. To an individual living a particular health condition, it may feel like they're forgotten the other 11 months of the year. The impact of health awareness months can are short lived
3. A risk of information overload with lots of over lapping health awareness months.
4. Awareness doesn't translate to action necessarily. It usually prompts a " I'll get round to it " thought
5. Businesses may not be willing to offer support
