New Machine Installation at Beverley Veneers

The Beverley Veneers team welcomed a new press machine into their factory. Originally an idea from Ernie Walker (General Manager) and Keith Deyes (Production Manager) and 15 months in the making from start to finish. Knowing Ernie and Keith’s vast experience and machine knowledge, the project was funded and backed by Stewart Jukes (Owner). Being made just across the road from the Beverley Veneers factory at Martin Engineers their neighbour and fabrication company. With the hydraulics system by Hose Fix and electrics by Lighthouse Electrical – both also local to Beverley Veneers. With heat patterns made and shipped in from Italy. A real collaborative project.

The idea was based on their old side press - doubling the size, changing the platterns from oil to steam and adding more rams. The new machine presses veneered coffin lids, sticking paper to the bottom of the chipboard and veneer to the top of the chipboard. Allowing the team to double their production of veneered lids compared to the old press.

The project has been a great success with new press being installed for around 4 weeks now and has met all the team’s expectations in their production of coffin lids.
