Welcome to Flamingoyogis classes for everybody

My name is Laura and I am a flamingo yogi.

I have been practising yoga for 7 years and completed my qualification to teach yoga to both children (with Special Yoga) Teens (with Teen Yoga) and adults (with Universal yoga), accredited with Yoga Alliance Professionals. The course follows the Sivananda lineage from which I keep the foundations for my classes. However I have practiced many styles of yoga and have been influenced by many teachers and styles throughout my yoga experience which is expressed through my classes.

Having experienced the benefits of yoga myself and witnessed the change in how I face challenges, I wanted to share this with others. I focus my teaching toward those that don’t attend mainstream yoga classes or would have difficulty accessing a mainstream yoga class. I passionately believe yoga would benefit everybody and should be available for everybody who wants to try.

My interest in sharing yoga with children and teens stem from my experiences as a social worker and witnessing the stress and anxiety our young people face daily. In many practical experiences I saw myself using my Yoga in my interactions with young people and saw the potential to share this knowledge wider. I also have 10 years of experience working with young people and adults with special educational needs and very interested in exploring therapeutic yoga to support parents and individuals to help manage physical disabilities and behavioural difficulties. The benefits of Yoga are widespread and is different for each yogi (student). I enjoy modifying my teachings to the students that I meet and learning from my students what yoga can offer them.
