“Will you come again?”

A simple question that captured the value of our recent Filling My Cup! session at Harmony House – a retirement facility in the heart of Birmingham.

The unexpected question by a tenant, as we were packing to leave, spoke volumes about how much they had enjoyed the session. It wasn’t just about the rock painting – yes, being creative had been fun, but equally, if not more important, was the joy of connection and conversation.

The light-hearted banter, shared stories of old Birmingham, giggles about someone getting paint all over their hands – priceless moments that reaffirm the beauty of authentic human connection…moments that might seem ordinary but leave a lasting impression.

We hope to return to Harmony House to continue filling cups…both theirs and ours!

If you’re interested in helping us expand Filling My Cup! into more locations, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, we can ensure that the answer to “Will you come again?” is always a resounding “Yes!”

It's great when our members offer to take the lead in Filling My Cup! A recent session facilitated by Neena Personal Creations was a massive hit. It was an opportunity for Neena to showcase her creative side and boosted her confidence. And it gave me some ideas about how members can play a more active role at Hope Inspired going forward. Group members bringing their ideas and skills to the sessions is a testament to the success of Filling My Cup. It shows the sense of ownership and belonging within the group.

Watch this space to see what our members have in store for you!

Our recent Filling My Cup! mindful walk through Ward End Park was an opportunity to connect deeply with ourselves and with nature. Surrounded by the vibrant autumn colours, group members were invited to walk in silence…to be fully present, savour the sights and breathe in the crisp air.

Leaving behind the busyness of the day and drowning out the external and internal noise that often crowds our minds was priceless. Even just a short walk had us all feeling calmer and grounded after a hectic morning. Walking in silence felt unfamiliar at first, but as we settled into it, the absence of words created space for reflection. The silence felt like a gift – an opportunity for us to truly hear ourselves.

And how better to conclude our trip to the park than to enjoy a hot drink together and use the treasures we discovered on the ground to create small displays that symbolise what wellness means to us personally.

We love how Asha has captured the essence of our Filling My Cup! meet-ups.

We know from what participants tell us, that Filling My Cup! sessions are not simply a social event…they are a space where each participant feels seen, heard and valued. In a world that often moves too fast, our sessions provide a space for people to slow down, re-connect with themselves and find a moment of peace. For many, the sessions offer respite from life’s challenges and a gentle space where conversations flow, stories are shared and a sense of community blossoms.

Each Filling My Cup! is unique – shaped by the women who attend. We incorporate arts and mindfulness-based activities designed to relieve stress and lift our mood. However, for those who simply want to meet others, enjoy a drink and a chat or simply have space for quiet reflection, there is plenty of opportunity for just that. We believe in letting each person engage at their own pace and comfort level so they get the most from each session.

Asha’s reference to sanctuary really resonates with us. It conjures up a feeling of peace and comfort, a place where we can release our worries and simply be. A place where there is empathy and acceptance…a place to heal and grow.

We believe the time is now right to expand our reach and create a ripple of healing and hope throughout the West Midlands so we can fill more cups!

We would love to hear from you if you share our vision and would like to explore opportunities for collaboration. With like-minded partners, we can transform even more lives and make a lasting impact on our communities.
