This distinctive pattern of yellow-white flecks in the retina—seen in this fundus image—is a hallmark of fundus flavimaculatus, a form of Stargardt disease. It’s a rare inherited retinal disorder caused by mutations in the ABCA4 gene, affecting central vision over time.
🔬 Early diagnosis through fundus photography, autofluorescence imaging, and genetic testing is key to managing progression.

A recent visit to a vineyard in the south of France reminded that red wine has benefits for your eyes? The skin of grapes contains Resveratrol which have shown benefits against; glaucoma, macular degeneration & diabetes… However you may need about 80 bottles of red wine so probably best for your eyes to enjoy a bunch of grapes 🍇 😊
