Black families are more likely to experience pregnancy and baby loss than white families yet Black parents aren’t always aware of the specialist bereavement support that is available to them.

and founder aim to bring awareness of the services and organisations available to support families affected by baby loss in Black communities.

Black Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025 will address:

📌Why Black Baby Loss Awareness Week matters
📌Mental well-being and baby loss
📌Black men and baby loss
📌Lactation after baby loss
📌Self-care after baby loss

🗓️ We’re at the midpoint of Black Maternal Health Awareness Week UK.

😕I must admit, I’m not big on celebrating these weeks; the disparities in our health outcomes and the reluctance of governments to prioritise tackling the systemic causes of health inequalities are not worthy of my celebration.

☺️However, I am deeply grateful to the individuals and organisations who are working tirelessly to amplify Black maternal voices, raise awareness, educate and battle for change. I see you all and because of you we are having the important and often difficult conversations that help to keep Black maternal health on the agenda.

We had fun, games, friendship, food, beautiful midwives and more.
