Happy International Dance Day 🌍🌎🌏💃🕺✨

Dance is my joy, and movement that is expressive and full of feeling is my passion to do and to watch - it’s been there since I was very little and shaped who I am today, its been my voice in a world of noise and my harbour when seas were stormy. It’s brought me both challenges and a skills set that are unique to this art form. And many, many, lessons. And it’s something that will never leave me because it is me.

I know many of you reading this feel the same way 🫶

Dance belongs to the whole body and the whole person. Not just the parts that show on stage - your nervous system, your breath, all parts of your physical body as well as your felt sense of being in motion and the emotional charge behind and within that expression. Dance is the totality of the whole person, and having been both a learner and a teacher in dance, before moving to Pilates and Somatics I know the experience on both sides. Dance is effort, discipline, repetition, and the particular kind of courage it takes to keep showing up in a body that is always changing, as we grow, age, or change. And even more courage to look at how to take pressure off ourselves and stop fighting with our physical body and mind.

I care deeply about what it actually feels like to be in a dancing body - not just how it looks or performs, but how it lives and breathes and recovers and finds pleasure in moving. The total dancer. The healthy dancer. The embodied dancer.

Dancers who feel as good as they look.

That is what I am here for. Today and every day, happier, healthier and more confident dancers.

Take a moment to notice, imagine and feel…
Your fascia is a mycelial network, your skeleton a geological formation. Your blood is a water cycle. Your lungs are the earth breathing through you.
These look like metaphors but there is a truth here which points to something important…
Your fascia, a continuous web wrapping every muscle and organ - mirrors mycelium. Both distribute information and generate tensional strength through interconnection.
Your skeleton redistributes forces through bone rhythms, and a system of dynamic balance and our mountains also distribute force through dynamic loading - which tells us how important movement is!
Your circulatory system moves fluid in cycles of pressure, flow, return, and filtration. The earth does this through water cycles and mineral cycling.
Your lungs are chambers of gas exchange. So are forests. So is soil. Every breath participates in the planet’s respiration. You inhale oxygen released by photosynthesis. You exhale carbon dioxide that feeds plant life.
What you breathe shapes what the earth can grow. What the earth grows shapes what you can breathe. The connection is two-way.
The Franklin Method teaches us to sense these structural realities and recognise that the patterns you embody are the patterns the earth embodies.
You are not separate from the earth. Your architecture is its architecture. Through breath and circulation, you are continuously shaping and being shaped by the living systems you’re part of.

My thoughts on Earth day - let’s move beyond the picture of just ourselves into the total picture. We cannot separate ourselves from this connection as we too are nature.

Connection… with the body, with your community, with a greater mission. Pilates on Tour 2026 in London.
What a joy to connect and move alongside others who understand what it means to work with embodied movement and precision, with presence, with feeling and with joy! There are many things in the Pilates world that can feel very concerning at the moment, news of injuries, poor training, divisions, posturing, but equally there are so many connections within this world that are supportive, nourishing, illuminating, that have integrity, real depth and insight, and make me smile! Move beyond those that shout loudly and you will find so much support and good energy!
I’ve been so happy to be in a room of movement and conversations and deepening connections and understanding. Catching up with my incredible teachers, those I have been in a room with virtually for many years and finally to meet with in person, those I haven’t seen for a while and connecting with new friends as well. Catching up Buff Bones instructors I have taught with from both the UK, Greece and Norway and, meeting newer teachers and colleagues who are genuinely invested in moving an embodied practice forward.
It’s been wonderful to be in a gathering where learning and movement is the starting point for everything else.
So this teacher is returning to her studios and movement spaces feeling energised from the movement I have experienced and real conversations about what embodiment means within this form. So grateful for my teachers , colleagues, and this community.

Thank you as ever for bringing the community together, for bringing collective belonging and positivity and for my new reformer and cadillac springs 🥰. And a Happy 50th! 🎂

SomaSoul® Somatic Therapy is an internationally regulated body-based therapy practice. I’m a Master Somatic Movement Therapist and Educator (MSME/T), regulated by ISMETA, trained and mentored directly by SomaSoul® founder Dan Leven.
In somatic therapy, we work with how your nervous system holds patterns - tension, protection, disconnection - and resource it toward genuine change. Through gentle, attentive compassion and connection, as well as body based practices we can shift what talking alone can’t touch and come back into a sense of feeling more whole and more like ourselves.

I am so happy to finally have a dedicated sanctuary for us to move, breathe, and reconnect bringing you the very best in Somatics and Pilates. I grew up in this county where to experience the best in movement you had to go to the big cities of the world - but I’m bringing it back home. Whether you’re looking for Specialist Pilates, Buff Bones, Franklin Method or deep Somatic Therapy of Soma Soul, this is a space designed for the “human being” rather than the “human doing.”

Wishing you all a truly joyous holiday rest, lots of chocolate 🍫, and some movement! Finally into our long Easter break here in the UK and bank holiday season, and I hope you get to enjoy every moment. 🐣 🌸 Let’s collectively wish for some beautiful sunshine!☀️

Your body remembers the good.
Every moment of ease, every shift, every time something just worked - this can be felt and is a crucial resource that is banked in our reserves of feeling good. If we learn to notice those moments rather than move past them, we build something really important.
Movement is a journey toward connection, wellbeing, and ease. The body is responsive. It recognises the good when we give it space. Pausing to take stock is part of your work. Small wins become big wins over time. It’s how we build resilience and confidence that lasts.
This is what I’m interested in. For my clients, and for the teachers I work with.
