Lunch, lunch, lunch. The thing I think most people struggle with along with snack ideas is what to have for lunch.

I do struggle with this sometimes. What do I think works for me? Left overs, quick cook ups, sandwhich recipes, toasted wraps, jacket potatoes.

This is a quick and easy carbonara. Using bacon lardons, egg and Greek yogurt with lots of vegetables and some rocket.

This is a quick 10/10 recipe that is already on my page that I would highly recommend.

Motivational Monday Series:

I recently listened to a podcast by and regarding habit development and it has inspired this series and post.

I have always been a fan of habits. They underpin everything want to do and everything we want to achieve.

Whether it’s your morning coffee or training for a half marathon. All of them have their purpose if they are allow you to repeat them.

By following these 4 laws you can aid the development of potentially new functional habits. Whether it been getting a whole 8 hours sleep, training twice a week or simply waking up at the same time more regularly.

Hopefully this Monday series gives you a little boost for the next 7 days and the 7 days post that!

Back to it. A lovely morning breakfast of grilled tomatoes and bacon, scrambled eggs with hot sauce on top of seeded toast.

Start with the easy wins and easy adaptions to your food. Grill your bacon instead of frying. Potentially opt for bacon medallions if you wish.

Add a portion of fruit or vegetables to your breakfast and start the count🙏🏼

Add some additional fibre whether it be from wholemeal or seeded bread.

🎄🎅🏼. That time of year has arrived.. the time where everyone believes because it is Christmas they have to have one extreme or the other.

We’re all guilty at some point believing this is the only option. Either enjoying Christmas and letting all goals go or being restrictive and “sorry I can’t have that pudding”. But I am here to tell you that is not the only way. You can still achieve your goals or be on the journey of achieving your goals while enjoying the festive periods.

How you may ask?😅

Well. By understanding that balance comes with enjoyment and success. Enjoying your Christmas desserts and snacking, while maintaining your good habits of fruit and veg intakes, good hydration and remaining active over the holiday season.

So believe me and enjoy this Christmas. The past 2 years have been a blur and very stressful, so if you can enjoy the family time. Enjoy the nights out and enjoy the best roast of the year.

Update:

Blimey it has been a while… since august to be exact. Crazy. Time has flown. A lot has happened and my life has changed a lot since.

I recently had a promotion and am now leading Product Development Manager. This involves designing products and taking them from concept, development to launch. I am LOVING it and it has been amazing.

In addition, I recently caught COVID… this was horrific. Don’t recommend it.

With all this in mind and more developments I have lacked the opportunity to post useful resources. But don’t worry I’m on it🙌🏼

First season since progressional rugby and university, so will be a good test. My pre, post and during nutrition will be vital and I will doing posts throughout the season so help you guys understand how I am adapting back into rugby.

This is a common thought process within a lot of people including myself.. why am I not losing weight or losing body fat even though I am eating we planned or as best as I can during the week?

Well…

We can all relate to that Friday, Saturday, Sunday feeling come Thursday end of play. Of course it’s normal to want something amazing and delicious after a hard week of work, training and life. That is ok.

But one easy thing you can do is accept this may happen and plan it into your weekly plans of meals. It’s ok to have a takeaway or something amazing on the weekend that you crave. You don’t have to earn it! Just encompass it within your journey, within your weight loss plans and you will still succeed and you will also have had some amazing meals along the way.

Weight loss or fat loss is not a quick fix. Dietary habits however as something that will stay with you for life.

Of course if you want to achieve your goals quicker then maybe adapt that Friday night takeaway, but if you are happy to enjoy the journey then plan ahead.

Friday Night😍.

This was insane yesterday evening. Homemade dough makes the best pizzas I can promise you.

Pizza oven just tops it off. Lighting the fire an hour before. Red hot, boom! Homegrown fresh rocket and salad makes it.

Unreal food, in the sun with . Perfection.

This might be the most asked question I have had and heard people ask other Nutritionists.

If a simple meal plan was the answer to weight gain, weight loss, muscle gain, muscle loss then everyone would be a lean, muscular body with no health conditions or illnesses.

Unfortunately that is not the case and is not that simple. One pill does not solve underlying issues the same as a meal plan does not sort any poor relationships with food, excess intakes, under nourishment and more.

I take a sustainable approach. I coach my clients. To not only understand my recommendations but to take learnings from them. Understand how they help and why. Why one method is working for that individual and how I can continue to help them learn and achieve their goals.

Here is an amazing dietary change by a client of mine. His goal is weight loss and is achieving that but a smaller target of his I set was to actually increase his calories at breakfast by including at least one portion of fruit to his meal.

Yes this is very slightly more calories but he was struggling to hit his 5-a-day so this is a great start to his dietary changes. This provides essential vitamins and minerals to start the day of well🙌🏼

So pleased with this progression in only a few weeks.

Why start Monday, is there a rational reason behind this decision? If yes then go for it. If it is because you know that your previous experience with diets is so restrictive that whatever you plan to have over the weekend won’t be ‘allowed’ then this is where I come in.

Paneer Spinach Curry, Rice and Naan Bread.

has been a revelation for me. Something that my partner insisted on for years but I was in the mindset of meat = protein. I can honestly say that some of the recipes I have recently made are amazing. This once packs a real punch and the addition of cheese is always going to be a winner.

Yes you could add chicken, lamb or another protein source. But it’s not always required.
