My fellow "Women of a certain age". If you’ve noticed your body feels different lately; stiffer joints, tighter muscles, disrupted sleep, or aches that weren’t there before, you’re not imagining it.

Hormonal changes, particularly lack of oestrogen, during perimenopause and menopause can influence muscle tone, connective tissue, recovery, and overall comfort. Many of the women I work with (and I have noticed for myself!) mention these changes in how they feel.

Soft tissue therapy/Sports Massage can help by:
• Reducing muscular tension and joint stiffness
• Supporting circulation and tissue health
• Calming the nervous system (helpful for stress and sleep)

Aches, stiffness and reduced mobility are common as we get older, but they do not have to be something you simply live with.

The Menopause Project 💚

Ladies are you experiencing menopausal or peri-menopausal symptoms? 🥵

Thanks to funding from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council we are pleased to offer our established menopause exercise and nutrition program to 12 women every 6 weeks for a limited time. 💥

Participation in this program is complimentary, with only a small contribution to The Billy Project requested per session. 💚

Participants must be able commit to the full 6-week program and be available during our Billy Project operating hours (Monday to Friday, 11 am - 4 pm).

The next induction will be on Monday 2nd February!

You may have heard today described as “Blue Monday”. While a single day can’t explain how complex mental health really is, it can be a helpful reminder to check in with ourselves and each other.

Low mood, anxiety and depression are real and can affect anyone. Support matters. Talking to a trained professional can make a genuine difference. If you need help, organisations such as , , NHS Talking Therapies, or BeWellBwD offer confidential, compassionate support.

Alongside professional care, small, practical steps can help support wellbeing. Gentle movement, regular, nutritious meals (perhaps a warming soup or even beans on toast?) getting outside in daylight, limiting alcohol, and staying connected with someone you trust can all make a difference.

If today feels hard, you’re not weak and you’re not alone. Reaching out is a strength.
