🤝Yesterday, some of the Veterans travelled to Wales to take on Wales Armed Forces Veterans FC in an 11 aside friendly at Colliers Park.

⚽️Wales are an established international veterans team who are due to play in the Veterans World Cup, so it was going to be a big challenge from the start.

Wales came out on top 6-3 winners but the lads should be proud of their performance, especially with being so inexperienced playing together in this format. Some very good football from both teams in what was an enjoyable fixture to watch.

Well done to all involved and a big thank you to Team Wales for hosting us. We look forward to meeting up with Wrexham Armed Forces Veterans soon.

🪖 Veterans football is for those who have served or still serve in HM Armed forces. Our session on Monday is all about connecting with like minded people and rediscovering that camaraderie we had when serving. 🏆 Over the weekend, the Veterans participated in a 6 aside tournament hosted by Accrington Stanley Community Trust @ The Stanley Sports Hub. An enjoyable experience for the team and it was an opportunity for some to gain their first competitive action in Blue and White.

⚽️ We return to The Stanley Sports Hub again this evening to take part in a 9 aside friendly with Accrington Stanley CT Veterans.

The event starts at 10am with a 10.30am kick off, and there will also be a family day run alongside.

🏆A brilliant evening on Saturday for our first awards night. Congratulations to all who received an award. But the main goal of the evening was not to award individuals on their efforts, it was to come together and celebrate as a team. And that’s just what we did. It was a great opportunity to socialise together with family and friends. Thank you to all who attended and made this evening work.

🏆This evening, the Veterans will be holding their first end of season award nights. The project started in February 2024 and was set up for military veterans to come together and rediscover that lost camaraderie when leaving the forces. Over the last 15 months or so, we have grown to around 40 participants and average 18 per week. With this, we decided to join the FA’s North West Military Veterans League, where we finished a respectable 3rd place in our maiden season. Along the way, we have participated in numerous tournaments and friendly games and continue to grow.

Tonight, we come together to celebrate a successful first year since forming, but also to say thank you to all the veterans that make this project work. We look forward to seeing you all later on. Details of the event can be found in the below image and all are welcome to attend.

⚽️Tonight, the Veterans take on Blackburn Rovers Dads FC in a 7 aside friendly in one of our monthly meet ups. Kick off will be around 8pm at the BRIC, and all are welcome to come and watch.
