Its quite the day for big things the 21st December 🥰

My Nannie Kath had her birthday today and she would have been 76 today and bloody fabulous too! ♥️ she left us 6 years ago in the summer during Covid very unexpectedly but I was the last to speak to her and she was in the best of spirits telling me she was excited to see us soon and how proud she was of how I was dealing with an extremely big disaster of pretty epic proportions; as well as the Covid lockdown… wherever they are I hope her and my mum are having a ball; together 🦋

6 years ago today I had a midwife’s appointment, my youngest son was due any day and due to having gestational diabetes that was out of control they decided to induce me; “Are you coming in today or tomorrow?” they said 😬 Having three kids at home and three pets to coordinate I said tomorrow and two days later he was born 🥳🥳🥳

Then lastly, 18 years ago my oldest son was due any day; I’m great at timing these things I know! And I awoke to find my plug had emerged 🤮 Went the hospital, they said not yet and as soon as I got home my waters went… back the hospital for the second time and they declared slow labour, back home; come in Sunday @ 8am if you’re not here already. For a whole day I had the river Mersey running down my leg every time I stood up, changed my clothes more times than I had trousers and endured the contractions while running around after my daughter… then 6am Sunday he decided he was ready! The ambulance headed towards three separate hospitals before finding one with a space and they joked with it being so close to Christmas that there was no room in the inn and the baby Jesus must have been on his way 🤣🤣🤣 it was quite the eventful birth as they all are and were but he was also born on the 23rd of December 🥳🥳🥳

The timing thing gets even more ridiculous when you hear that my daughter, my oldest was born on the 24th of December but this is about the 21st and I don’t go into labour with her until the early hours of the 23rd 🤷🏻‍♀️

The 21st is also the Winter Solstice this year 🙏 the shortest day and the longest night of the year, the return of the Sun and this years “Midnight Point”. A shift from the darker days to lighter ones, shorter days to longer ones and this year is quite a pinnacle for me and mine indeed 🥰 we have endured and survived all the chaos; and very much excited for our first Christmas Day with EVERYBODY together, our first year in a very long time where we’re no longer chasing our peace and only have to worry about the regular bu****it everyone else is worrying about… 🥳🥳🥳

Honestly I can’t remember ever being excited to celebrate the years achievements and welcome in a whole new year and the possibilities that it might bring me and my little family. And considering I have three Christmas babies that’s pretty shocking 🫥

But anyway this year I am and that’s what’s important! 🙌 for those of you that are also excited wooooo 🤓 and for those of you that aren’t I’m sending some of mine to share 🥰 May we all have a fabulous Christmas and a very blessed New Year 🖖

It’s all you really CAN do 🤷🏻‍♀️ and as long as you never quit trying; well I’m big on the belief that we’ll all get there… I can often be seen chanting along to myself “I can, I will; and I fcuk-ing am!” Honestly I try not to care less who thinks I’m mad, they’re right and I’ve tried to fix it many times and it’s a futile exercise so I just embrace it now 😇

My weirdness is my super power and although I’m more than aware and often bothered by what people think of me, their thoughts and my botherdness don’t change a thing… the pursuit of normalcy by societies standards only leads to worse for everyone involved and well, the best people in my life like me exactly as I am; bless em 🥰

I don’t see how any omnipotent presence that may or may not exist would have a rigid criteria given that organic matter is the subjective specimen for grading, not to mention the cacophony of existential confounding variables weighing down upon said subjects from day one with the relent of a freight train and its only getting worse as the world turns on year after year!

So please, if you give yourselves anything this Christmas please let the first thing be a pat on the back that you’re trying, you’re showing up day after day and your intentions are to do what needs to be done 🙌 but if you’re one of those dastardly types then maybe start with installing those three things first; then honestly I really believe everything else will take care of itself 🖖

It’s so close to Christmas, I am so not ready; I have a to-do list as long as the wall of China and it seems to be getting longer rather than shorter 🤯

Absolutely full of Holly Jolly Christmas Spirit however and intending to “just keep swimming” till the very last minute 🙌

No idea whose idea it was to send homemade gifts rather than Christmas cards this year but they’re fired… 🤫 so today instead of cracking on inside the house with cleaning and wrapping and making eggnog and birthday cakes I’m off to post stuff and praying that they’re received well; while convinced everyone is going to hate what I’ve made and it will go in the bin 🫥

Regardless, I’ll send em anyway and pray to Jeebus all goes well. Then I’ll return and hole up in the kitchen, singing full volume to top notch Christmas music!

Sending whatever you need to best serve your own mountains today 🥰 and crossing everything I have with hope that today, the list; gets shorter… 🖖

I haven’t written anything in a while and honestly, life is a whirlwind at the moment with the holidays season and trying to get everything done with this wonky brain and awfully confused biology… not to mention I was in a car crash at the beginning of November which has absolutely made everything worse 😬 I feel like I’m aging exponentially recently and things are mounting at an alarming rate; so much so I am faced with my mortality not for the first time in my life. But the difference this time is I’m struggling to find the faith that it will get better. I’ve tried exercising to help with several of the things yet my body 1. Won’t move like it used to and 2. Takes a shocking amount of time to recover. So what can I do? Well I tell you what I won’t do and that’s give up trying! In the new year I will have my 40th birthday and it’s a milestone as kids we see people having huge parties for, “life begins at 40” and all that jazz; but when you’re there it’s the point when you have to take stock of how you’re living and if it’s in a way that’s going to bring you longevity. Especially if you have young children, which I do; my youngest is 5 so I seriously can’t be following in my mothers footsteps and popping it before I reach 50 cause no teenager deserves that kind of shock… as always Tl;dr I know but what else is your own page for if you can’t dump the vestiges of your brain there 🤷🏻‍♀️ those who know me well, know I’ve survived some god awful nonsense and I intend to continue to do so. But the fact is if I’m going to achieve for myself a best before date into my 60s or even miraculously into my 70s, 80s pigs may even fly and I get past 90… something needs to change and drastically and now 🖖

It’s too early to be alive when there are no kids home but here I am and it’s Friyayyy and I’m awake… this chicken helped me feel better about it so I’m passing it on 🤣🤣🤣

There are some beautiful spots to soak up some nature even in the most urban of spaces 🥰 also some of those stairs were like half a foot tall… I am very short, pretty unbalanced and quite stiff; going down them was my leg day since I’m currently quarantined from humanoid filled spaces 😬 but seriously it was a very lovely walk, I sat on the flowery stone log thingy and considered myself peacefully for a whole five minutes 🙌 I would have sat longer to be fair but a dog started growling at me from behind a bush so I swiftly got out of its way 🤣🤣🤣
