💚Professional Care Workers Week – 12th to 19th September 💚

This week we celebrate the vital role of Care Professionals across the UK. The word “Professional” is central to this awareness week – it highlights the skill, dedication, and importance of care work.

Sadly, too often carers face low pay, little training, and a lack of recognition. At Home Instead Lytham, we do things differently. We:

📢 Government Emergency Alert Test – Sunday 7th September at 3pm 📢

Today 7th September at 3pm, the Government will be testing the Emergency Alert system.
👉 Your phone will make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate for about 10 seconds, even if it’s on silent.
👉 It’s only a test – no action is needed.

💡 Advice for the Public:

Let friends, family, and neighbours know so they’re not alarmed.

Reassure anyone who may be unsettled by sudden loud noises.

If you’d prefer not to receive the test, you can switch alerts off in your phone’s settings.

💡 Advice for Care Professionals:

If you’re with a client at 3pm, let them know in advance.

Reassure them it’s just a test and nothing to worry about.

You could even make it fun – e.g., a little game of “who hears it first?”

✅ Remember – the system is designed to help keep people safe in real emergencies.
