'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside....oh I do like to be beside the sea..."

Who read that while singing it in their minds? 🙋‍♀️

It's in celebration of our latest foyer theme, which is reminding residents of glorious coastal holidays from their past.

Thank you to our creative volunteer Cath for another colourful and fun display.

Staff said a very reluctant farewell to Sue, our lovely Assistant Care Home Manager, who has been an important part of the team for 37 years!

There was a party filled with anecdotes and laughter, looking back over her wonderful career. She will be missed greatly.

Helping our residents to enjoy their favourite things is all part of the service at our Fylde Coast residential home.

Sandra, who never goes far without one of her little friends, loved her outing for pizza and to see Riverdance, with caregiver Wendy.

If you know someone interested in finding an inclusive, welcoming and nurturing care home for both sighted and sight-impaired people, please spread the word!

Please spread the word - this would be a great part-time job for someone.

Heart of Gold winner for August!

Our Heart of Gold winner for August is our Communications & Fundraising Officer, Amanda.

Amanda was nominated by other staff for "going above and beyond" in promoting the organisation and raising money, but also for improving internal communication and "bringing us all together" more.
......and as that's me, I can honestly say this role is a joy and a privilege in such a wonderful team. Thank you!

This is a great part-time job for someone with care experience, especially parents who can split childcare with their partner.

It's very much an active caring role, but clearly the home is quieter overnight. Our residents are a blend of sighted and sight impaired people, and the Home is a pleasant working environment easy to get to by road, bus or tram!

Your employer would be N-Vision, the sight loss charity, which is Investors in People accredited and proud of its strong team spirit.

Night Team Leader Jacqui Barr has notched up twenty years of loyal service to the home - and parent organisation the N-Vision sight loss charity.

What a remarkable achievement - thank you!

Say cheeeeeeese.....and wine!

The residents love their regular cheese and wine (or beer) evenings. Activities like this give them a chance to relax and chat with staff and each other.

Just one 'slice' of our varied activity programme!

Don't forget that we apply the same high standards of care, communication and individual support to the services we provide to local people in their OWN home.

This will benefit our residents so much! Especially our Wednesday gardening club.

** EXCITING NEWS - New community green space for Blackpool! **

Thanks to a new partnership, the extensive grounds at N-Vision are to be transformed by social and environmental regeneration organisation Groundwork CLM (Cheshire, Lancashire and Manchester).

Our two charities have joined forces to turn our grounds into a sensory gardens and versatile community green space. It will especially enable people with low vision to feel safe, included and involved in gardening projects.

The first step will be to enlist ideas and local support. If you are interested in being involved in this creative community project, please contact info@nvision-nw.co.uk or ring 01253 362 683.

TWO Hearts of Gold winners for July - as they were both nominated multiple times!

First there is the fabulous Mike, one of our maintenance team. He's always positive and uncomplaining, despite the fact we keep him very busy across our head office, residential home, and charity shops! N-Vision can always depend on him, and the staff team love having him around.

Second, is Jo, our Vision Rehabilitation Specialist. She too goes the extra mile, and is loved by clients and her colleagues. Whether she's leading group activities or providing one-to-one support for people with sight impairments, Jo is always an uplifting presence.

THANK YOU!

Some of the best outings in life are simple, spontaneous, and special to us.

One of our community caregivers, Ruth, took home resident Billy on an outing to Poulton this week.

He loved wandering round the market, then sat soaking up the peace in St Chad's Church.

Making sure residents get one to one time is important to us.
