Coastal explorations with our Nurture child today- main theme that naturally occurred, and certainly not planned was 'Local History during WW2'- exploring and observing 'Prideaux Place' & 'GunPoint', igniting curiosity and wonder about how these places were used in the war, and why?
Saving a starfish and learning about rock pool marine life, and getting excited for our first sighting of Frogspawn!

Today's Making- a wooden whisk from a Christmas Tree, to then using it to whisk pancake batter...

This was such a satisfying, enjoyable process.
Thankyou for the great demonstration video which really helped our nurture student be able to visualise the making process before attempting it.

Thanks to for allowing me to go chop tops off the donated Christmas Trees to use for this craft (you can still donate your old trees to them at Trevisker garden centre until January 17th- they have great plans for them)!

Christmas Dinner forest school style 😋
The intention was to cook the dinner on skewers in the pizza oven...despite our best efforts we didnt manage to get the oven hot enough, so then quick change of plan- it became 'roast on a tray' cooked over the fire...despite the plan changing, it turned out to be delicious, as most food cooked outside normally is!

The process was the important learning experience for our nurture child- preparing the food (& fire), patience (a lot of it!), adapting, and acceptance of a changed plan...not always easy with neurodiversity!

But, it was so worth it! We sat and enjoyed a delicious meal all together round the table- something this child rarely experiences.
