Mumma's Magical Dreams

Mumma's Magical Dreams Pregnancy, Birth and Postnatal Doula. Newborn Care Specialist/Maternity Nurse. Baby Massage Teacher. My name's Anita. Since then I have worked in both sectors.

I have worked in childcare for 28 years, which has included Nannying and working in Nurseries. I had a break from childcare when I had my own children, where I trained in Beauty and Complementary Therapies. I recently decided to expand my career and dream to become a birth and postnatal Doula and Maternity Nurse.

📚Research shows that abdominal massage can be used to encourage bowel movements, help digestion, and relieve pain or discomfort.

📌The I L U tummy massage is used to help with tummy troubles such as gas & constipation. You can do the I L U tummy massage every day for your little one.

👶First, remove any clothing covering your baby’s belly.

🧴Place a small amount of lotion or baby massage oil on your hands.

👆Starting on your baby’s left side, make a downward stroke from the top of their belly to the bottom. This is the I.

👈Then make a backwards upside down L, starting at the top of the right side of their belly, moving your hand to the top of the left side of the belly, and then down to the bottom of the left side of the belly.

👇Last you’ll make an upside down U. Starting at the bottom of the right side of your baby’s belly, you’ll move your hand up to the top of their right side, then over to the top of their left side, and down to the bottom of their left side.

🤟You can say I love you as you go through the motions of the message. You can repeat the massage if both you and baby are enjoying it.

👇🏼Have you tried the I L U massage before?

When squeezing the comb in your hand during labour it can help reduce pain by stimulating acupressure points.

In a world where we rush around and try to fit too much in, a baby’s ‘due date’ has come to be seen by some people as a kind of appointment.

Statistically, only 5% of babies are born on their due date. That's one in twenty. Some come earlier, and many healthy babies are born after this.

I sometimes suggest that people plan to do something nice on their baby’s due date; there’s a really high chance that you’ll be free to do it!

But the important thing to remember is that, on the whole, our bodies and our babies’ bodies know what they’re doing.
