🎀 Join Us for a Self Breast Examination Teaching Session 🎀

In support of Wear It Pink Day for Breast Cancer Awareness, Bersted Green Surgery is proud to host a special educational session led by Dr. Cockerill.

🗓 Date: Friday 24th October 2025
🕐 Time: 1:00–2:00 PM
📍 Location: Bersted Green Surgery (room details to follow based on interest)

During this session, Dr. Cockerill will guide participants on how to perform self breast examinations—an important skill that can help with early detection of breast changes.

👉 Please note: This is an educational session only. No physical breast examinations will be performed.

To help us plan and ensure everyone has space to attend comfortably, please comment below to express your interest. If we receive a high number of responses, we may organise additional smaller sessions.

🌟 Flu Vaccination Season is Here! 🌟

Our flu clinics are starting soon! From September, we’ll be offering vaccines to pregnant patients and children aged 2–3 years. From October, we’ll begin vaccinating at-risk patients aged 18–65 and everyone aged 65 and over – please note, these groups cannot be vaccinated before October.

🗓️ Flu Clinic Dates:

· Saturday Clinics: 11th & 18th October (includes children's appointments)

· Midweek Clinics (September): For pregnant patients and young children

🏡 Housebound patients will receive both their Flu and Covid vaccines at home – we’ll contact you directly, so no need to call.

We would encourage patients to complete an online AccuRx (eConsult) form or come to the front desk this morning when the doors open at 8.30am.

If you’d prefer a private space to feed your little one, just ask—we’re happy to provide a comfortable and discreet area. Let’s support and empower every mum on her breastfeeding journey! 💕👶

World Breastfeeding Week is held in the first week of August every year, supported by WHO, UNICEF and many Ministries of Health and civil society partners.

This Tuesday, UKHarvest will be running their second Community Food Hub at The Phoenix Centre from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Pop along to pick up fresh produce and other food items while helping to reduce food waste. Just take a reusable bag and a suggested £5 donation to support UKHarvest’s ongoing work. Everyone is welcome!
