Shine Sexual Health We provide a confidential service offering advice & support on a range of sexual health issues.

Our sexual and reproductive health service provides diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections and complications including HIV. We also provide family planning support and advice and all forms of contraception in one confidential and friendly service. Sexual health is also sometimes referred to as genito-urinary medicine (GUM).

We’re excited to welcome Anita, an HIV Peer Navigator from George House Trust, to the Bolton Shine service!
Working in partnership with the NHS, Anita will be with us two days a week, offering emotional and social support to people newly diagnosed through the emergency department Opt-Out Testing Programme, as well as those who’ve never spoken to someone else living with HIV before.

Her lived experience and compassion make her a vital source of support, understanding, hope and will help to combat stigma 💬❤️

Dr Morgan has been our clinical lead consultant since 2001.
During this time he put Bolton sexual health on the map and has improved the service immeasurably for both patients and staff. Dr Morgan continues to work at the service as a consultant and HIV lead but has recently handed over his duties as clinical lead to Dr Sophie Ramsden.

Today we were able to get together as a team to thank Dr Morgan for everything he has done. 👏🏼
