Back from a family adventure in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 πŸš™βœ¨ and ready to roll back into Bolton for our next Fun With Trains sessions

This past month I’ve travelled across all four corners of the UK, soaking up different places, cultures, and traditions. And do you know what? Everywhere I went, I found that trains (big and small!) bring people together. πŸš‚πŸ’™

I’m full of fresh ideas and inspiration for our sessions; can’t wait to see our little engineers back on the track soon!

πŸš‚βœ¨ At Fun With Trains, we know just how special trains – and especially Thomas – can be for so many children. For some, it’s more than play; it’s a world that feels safe, familiar, and magical.

That’s exactly why we run our SEND sessions. They’re designed to be calmer, welcoming spaces where children, including those in the SEND community, can enjoy trains in their way; without pressure, without overwhelm, and always with joy at the heart.

This article captures beautifully why trains, and Thomas in particular, hold such meaning for autistic people. It’s a lovely reminder of why our SEND sessions matter so much. πŸ’™

πŸŒ„πŸš‚ Sunday Morning Train Spotting! πŸš‚πŸŒ„

How many of our little engineers wake their parents or grandparents up far too early on a Sunday? πŸ™ˆπŸ’›

We’re up in Nairn this weekend, camping right by the North Scotland line. Tomorrow morning (yes, before 9am on a Sunday! πŸ˜…) we’re heading to watch the Caledonian Sleeper from London to Inverness glide through.

Might even go live so you can join us for a bit of real train spotting πŸš‚βœ¨

πŸ‘‰ Tell us below: who’s the earliest riser in your family of train fans?

Fun Fact Friday πŸš‚

Did you know the very first model trains were made in the 1840s? They were clockwork toys built for the children of wealthy families; nothing like the detailed layouts we see today!

Now, model railways are enjoyed by millions worldwide, from children building their first track to adults recreating famous rail journeys.

πŸ‘‰ What was the first train set you remember playing with?
