Mango and I have been out Mantrailing this morning with Caroline Nairn at Dog Scout. This morning we did decoys, so two people go out and hide, the dog is given the scent article from one of them, and has to pick the right one.

It's a brilliant morning out, with like minded dog owners, gorgeous dogs, and giving your dog a task where they have to think independently and use their natural ability. They are the pilot, you are virtually just a passenger.

Stand back and be amazed at your dog’s incredible skills! 💪

It is so good for building confidence in all kinds of dogs, and because the dogs work one at a time, reactive dogs can do it, too!

I'm quite excited to share this week's blog which is all about mantrailing!🐾

Mango and I have recently started doing this with Dog Scout Training and we love it. When he finds the person, he is so thrilled he has to tell everyone about how clever he is! 🥰🤣

It's a lovely way to spend a weekend morning and we've met some lovely people as well.

Hi everyone! 🐾 I’ve been putting together a free secure field guide for dog owners in North Hampshire because I know how hard it can be to find safe, off-lead spaces (especially for those of us with reactive dogs or new puppies!).

I’ve just featured 5 local spots—including Barkers Paddock in Whitchurch, and the gorgeous woodland at Farleigh Forest.

I’d love to know if I’ve missed your favorite hidden gem?

You can check the list here:

Finding a safe, enclosed space to let your dog off-lead can be a challenge in North Hampshire. Whether you have a puppy learning recall, a high-prey-drive sighthound, or a reactive dog that needs a stress-free environment, secure fields are the perfect solution. We’ve rounded up the best secure wal...

Christmas is exciting… but for dogs it can be a lot 🎄🐾

Extra people, strange routines, tempting food, tinsel everywhere — it’s not surprising some dogs find the festive season tricky.

A few small things really help:
• Keep Christmas food and bins out of reach
• Watch tinsel, ribbons and fairy lights
• Let dogs opt out of greetings and noise
• Keep walks and meals as normal as possible
• Build in proper rest and downtime

I’ve shared a calm, practical guide to keeping dogs safe and settled at Christmas over on Mutterly Hampshire.

Christmas is meant to be joyful — twinkly lights, good food, family gatherings and long winter walks. For our dogs, though, it can be a confusing (and sometimes risky) time of year. Routines change, houses fill up, food appears everywhere, and the usual rules suddenly go out of the window.A little...

The clocks have gone back, the evenings are darker, and Mango’s evening routine now involves a box of bracken and leaves from our walks 🍂

Just because we’re spending more time indoors doesn’t mean our dogs have to get bored.

It's a great time of year to introduce some fun Trick training, and Free Work and gentle enrichment are brilliant ways to help them unwind — and perfect for puppies, golden oldies or dogs who need to take things slow.

In this week’s blog, I’ve shared some easy ideas you can try at home — no fancy equipment needed, just a few everyday bits and a little creativity.

Let’s make these darker evenings calm, cosy, and full of snuffles. 💛

As the clocks go back and the evenings draw in, Hampshire takes on that magical autumn glow — the smell of woodsmoke, the crunch of leaves underfoot, and the soft light that makes every walk feel like a postcard. For us, it’s a lovely excuse for big mugs of tea and cosy jumpers. For our dogs, tho...
