I've changed the name of my business from Five Spirits to Galloway Acupuncture and made a new website, which now has online booking, hopefully to make booking an appointment easy :)
Of course I'm more than happy to have a chat on the phone and continue to book that way too.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Spring is linked to the Wood element, symbolizing growth, flexibility, and the upward movement of energy, mirroring the dynamic nature of Spring.
The liver and gallbladder are the organs associated with the Wood element and are most active during Spring. The liver plays a crucial role in the smooth flow of energy throughout the body.
Spring is a time for cleansing, detoxification, and promoting both physical and emotional renewal.
It's a good time to focus on foods that support the liver and gallbladder, such as green foods, sour foods, and light, easily digestible meals.
Movement, stretching, and spending time in nature can help support the liver's function and promote a sense of well-being during Spring.
A time of expansion and growth, Spring is also a time when emotions like anger and frustration can arise due to the dynamic nature of the season.
The transition from the Yin, nurturing energy of Winter to the Yang, active Spring energy is a time of change and new beginnings.
Practices that are beneficial during Spring include acupuncture, herbal remedies, and Qigong exercises that support the liver and gallbladder.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, autumn is associated with the metal element and the lungs and large intestine.
The metal element represents strength, clarity, and knowing when to let go.
Questions of identity, purpose, and self-worth may arise, as well as
deep grief, difficulty letting go, and physical symptoms like a tight chest or throat.
To stay in balance through autumn, it's helpful to eat warming foods like soups and root vegetables, practice meditation and deep breathing, and do yoga poses that open the chest or a qigong routine for the metal element.

This is a 15 minute qigong practice for the Metal Phase/Element and the season of autumn. I filmed it recently while in Beijing at the Temple of the Eastern ...

Late Summer is a unique season in qigong and is associated with the Earth element. The Earth element is associated with balance, ease and stability. In the late summer months, qi begins to particularly affect the Earth element organs and meridians of the spleen and stomach, which foster steadiness, intention and transformation. This practise can be done any time of year but is particularly helpful in the late summer months before the onset of Autumn or in the transitions between seasons, as these times are also governed by the Earth element. During times of seasonal change, these practices will help you feel centred and able to meet the many responsibilities and demands of daily life with greater mental clarity and ease.

This is an Earth Element qigong practice for the stomach and spleen meridians, filmed spontaneously while on a recent walk in the English countryside (excuse...
