For some people, taking compliments doesn’t come easily. The voice in our head, our inner critic, shies away from them 😔

But part of connecting with each other, an important part in fact, is knowing how to accept them. To appreciate the kind words and feelings that have been expressed.

Yes, it can feel awkward.

You may even dismiss the compliment entirely or make less of it due to embarrassment. But accepting them is key to building your relationships and quieting that negative inner voice.

So I challenge you to take note, accept and absorb the compliment the next time you receive one 😌

A very quick and simple way to help ease anxiety is the 3-3-3 technique 🙂

☆ Focus on your surroundings and name 3 things you can see

☆ Then what 3 sounds can you hear

☆ And lastly move 3 parts of your body, a leg, finger, arm…

By doing the 3-3-3 technique, you are calming your mind down from the racing thoughts and bringing your whole self back into the present moment 🙌

This is a tip that can help you feel calmer when you are suffering from anxiety 🌱

Down regulation is where you switch your focus from what’s causing you anxiety and instead focus your attention on something that makes you happy 🙂

You take the heavy energy and turn it into something calmer & lighter. This could be:

☆ Taking a walk on the beach and watching the waves

☆ Spending time with a pet and taking comfort in being together

☆ Reading a good book and getting lost in the pages

Focus your attention on what brings you joy.
