✨ Gilded Christmas Bauble Crafting at Mulberry Fields ✨

Our homeowners enjoyed a beautifully creative session in the Activity Room, making gold leaf baubles with the talented Helen de Saram.

Helen not only guided everyone through the delicate gilding process, but also shared her extensive knowledge on the history and tradition of gilding, along with examples of the different materials used. It was fascinating to learn just how much artistry goes into this ancient craft.

The room was full of concentration, laughter, and a wonderful sense of achievement as each homeowner created their own shimmering bauble ready for Christmas.

A huge thank-you to Helen for such an inspiring and enjoyable workshop.

There’s nothing quite like live music to bring everyone together, and this month, our homeowners at Chapters Salisbury were treated to a fantastic evening with Vagabond Country!
The talented duo, Kevin and Fay, filled the bistro with classics ranging from country favourites and 60s rock to old-time music hall tunes, with something for everyone to tap their toes to. 🎸🎤

It wasn’t long before the audience joined in the fun, with plenty of singing, clapping, and even Richard making his musical debut on the triangle! 🎶👏

Using the bistro for the event created the perfect relaxed setting to unwind with friends and enjoy a fun-filled Friday evening.

Our Chapters homeowners spent a meaningful and memorable weekend commemorating Remembrance Day. We'd like to take a moment to celebrate each and every one of them.

At Chapters, we are immensely proud to be home to several distinguished veterans who have served this country with honour. Their continued dedication to remembrance is a testament to their lifelong commitment to duty.

These remarkable individuals, along with many of our homeowners, gathered today for a moving and atmospheric Remembrance Service here at Chapters, beautifully led by fellow homeowner Revd. Anthony Pybus.

Their stories, experiences, and continued leadership enrich our community every day. We are deeply honoured to walk alongside them, particularly on occasions as meaningful as this.

Wonderful to see our Salisbury community making a difference- well done all!

We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing support we’ve received from Platinum Skies this year. They’ve raised over £2,000 for Beyond Dementia - and their support will continue into the festive season.
Our community fundraising manager Rachel, was thrilled to meet manager Jenny Abbot to present a thank-you certificate and enjoyed catching up with resident Graham Marks, whose wife, Jan, was a founding member of our Scots Lane club in Salisbury. Graham was a huge help in the run-up to the club’s opening — and it was wonderful to celebrate their support 💚

🌺 The Poppy Project - What a stunning display of remembrance 🌺

Last year, homeowners at Mulberry House came together in a wonderful act of remembrance, knitting an incredible 1,400 poppies to adorn their Memorial Tree. And this year it's back as a striking display creating a meaningful tribute to those we have lost.

Our talented Craft Group turned the idea into a community-wide project, one that truly reflected the spirit of unity and remembrance, The Poppy Project brought everyone closer together. Around 20 homeowners contributed their time, creativity, and generosity, and with kind donations of materials, the project proudly supported The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Mulberry Fields for helping to create something so special — a symbol of remembrance, togetherness, and community pride. 🌺

Stories Beneath the Surface at Chapters Salisbury 🏛️🌿

Our homeowners were captivated this week by a fascinating talk from Frogg Moody, Fisherton History Society an award-winning local historian and former Head Gardener at the Old Manor Hospital, the very site where Chapters Salisbury now stands.

Frogg shared a rich tapestry of stories about the Old Manor’s remarkable past. Established in the early 19th century as a specialist psychiatric hospital, the site was once surrounded by beautifully cultivated gardens, complete with its own ballroom, chapel, and the stunning bronze fountain that still graces our grounds today.

From legendary tunnels said to run beneath the building, to whispers of royal ancestry among its former patients, and even the question of a ghost in the tower, it was a lively and intriguing afternoon that brought local history to life.

It’s wonderful to see how the history of this remarkable place continues to inspire and connect those who call it home today. 💫

🎃✨ The Halloween fun didn’t stop at Quantock. 🪦💀

Our wonderful community at Mulberry House joined in the celebrations too! Residents got into the spooky spirit with fabulous decorations, live music from the brilliant Dave & Les, and a little dance (or two!) to top off the night.

It was fantastic to see everyone come together for such a joyful evening, filled with laughter, music and plenty of Halloween magic! 👻🕯️

🎃✨ A Spooktacular Night at Quantock House ✨🎃

Quantock House embraced the spirit of the season with a hauntingly elegant Halloween celebration. Community Manager Cassie was on decoration duty, and the house was transformed into a candlelit haven filled with glowing pumpkins, autumn leaves, and plenty of spooky charm. 🕯️🍂

Homeowners gathered for a delicious Halloween-inspired supper, and the star of the evening? The pork belly… rich, tender, and truly to die for! 🖤 Served alongside seasonal sides and perfectly paired wines, it was an unforgettable experience that had everyone spellbound.

To finish, sweet treats and lively conversation filled the bistro, the perfect ending to an evening of laughter, fine food, and a touch of Halloween magic. ✨👻

Wonderful Wildlife and Pampered Pets Around Chapters 🐾🌿

Life at Chapters Salisbury is never short of friendly faces, and that includes our four-legged (and sometimes feathered!) neighbours.

Our homeowners’ much-loved companions Dotty, Harvey, and Trigger are always turning heads around the community. Whether it’s Harvey basking in the garden sunshine or Dotty and Trigger enjoying well-earned cuddles, there’s no doubt they’re truly pampered pets! 💕

Beyond our doors, nature has its own way of joining in. From butterflies dancing among the lavender and pigeons perched on the fountain, to the swans gliding along the river, every day brings a little wildlife magic. 🦋

And just beyond Salisbury, it’s that special time of year in the New Forest, pannage season, when pigs roam freely, feasting on fallen acorns beneath the autumn leaves. 🐖🍂

Oh, and we can’t forget a certain Salisbury bear who’s been spotted nearby, happily enjoying his marmalade sandwich. 🧸🥪
