Chapters’ chosen charity for 2026 is Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity 🚁💛

On 27th June, we’ll be holding our second annual Charity Auction in support of this incredible service, and we’re looking for local businesses and community supporters who may be able to help by donating prizes or auction lots.

Whether it’s a voucher, experience, hamper, gift item, or service, every donation will help us raise as much as possible for a charity that does such vital work across our community.

Last year, our residents and supporters raised over £1,500 for Alzheimer’s Support Wiltshire, and we’re hoping to make this year’s event just as successful, and just as fun!

Fish and Chip Friday was on the menu at Chapters! 🐟🍟

Our residents didn’t have to miss out on one of their favourite weekly traditions. Thanks to a fantastic local takeaway, Britz, everyone was soon enjoying crispy battered fish, delicious chip shop chips, and all the classic extras, mushy peas, beans, or curry sauce!

A huge thank you to Jenny, Ashleigh, and Iain for making sure everything ran smoothly and for serving up such a lovely lunch for everyone to enjoy. The dining room was full of smiles, laughter, and very happy residents.

Now for the important question… curry sauce with fish and chips... yes or no? 🤔😄

Throwback to our fantastic World Laughter Day celebrations at Chapters! 😂🎙️

Earlier this month, residents came together for our very first “Comedy Club / Joke Competition” and what an afternoon it was. There were smiles, laughter, and plenty of brave performances as residents stepped up to the microphone to share their favourite jokes and stories.

World Laughter Day is all about spreading happiness, friendship, and positivity, something that shines through every day in our wonderful Chapters community.

Home to nearly 200 friends and neighbours, Chapters is always full of activity, from arts & crafts and gardening club to fun ad hoc events like this one, bringing everyone together for plenty of laughter and companionship.

A special congratulations once again to Peter Daykin, whose legendary jokes earned the biggest applause of the afternoon! 👏🤣

It was a brilliant reminder of how important laughter, friendship, and community spirit really are.

Earlier this month, on 8th May, our Chapters community had the honour of being represented at the VE Day 81st anniversary commemorations in Guildhall Square, Salisbury, and in fine style too!

Our resident Colonel Ken Millar (kilted), a retired Royal Army Medical Corps veteran, was there to mark the occasion alongside fellow veterans, at a service organised by the Royal British Legion to honour all those who served, sacrificed, and suffered during the Second World War.

Colonel Millar's connection to service runs deep. His grandfather served in the First World War, his father in the Second. He himself served in Northern Ireland and the Falklands. His brother and sister-in-law are both Army veterans, and his son, a serving Army officer, has deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, South Sudan with the UN, and Sierra Leone during the Ebola outbreak.

A remarkable family. A remarkable man. We are so proud to call him part of our community.

Art class at Mulberry Fields is proving to be such a wonderful and creative experience! 🎨🌙

We are currently working on a very special project, creating a 2027 calendar inspired by the moon and its many beautiful phases throughout the year. We’ve started with May, capturing the charm of the season with bluebells, spring flowers, and the natural beauty we see around us. 🌸💙

It’s been lovely to see everyone sharing ideas, creativity, and plenty of laughter along the way. Art class is not only about painting pictures, but also about friendship, memories, and enjoying time together in our community.

We can’t wait to see how the rest of the months come to life! ✨

🍽️✨ Another Wonderful Evening at Chapters Supper Club ✨🍽️

Once again supper club brought everyone together for a delicious evening of English comforting favourites, with homeowners enjoying a traditional menu of Toad in the Hole followed by rhubarb crumble and custard.

As always, the evening was about far more than just great food. Around the table, conversations flowed as homeowners shared memories of childhood meals, school dinners, growing your own produce, and favourite family recipes from years gone by.

With plenty of laughter, nostalgia, and wonderful company throughout the evening, it was another lovely reminder of how shared dining experiences continue to bring our community together.

Now the only question is… where will Supper Club take us next? Any guesses? 🇪🇸✨

🧵✨ Creativity and Connection at Chapters Craft Club ✨🧵

The latest project for our talented crafters at Chapters Craft Club saw homeowners trying their hand at beautiful string art card kits, weaving gold thread around 60 shiny split pins to create intricate and eye-catching designs.

With seven different patterns to choose from, each card became a unique creation, finished with personal greetings and embellishments ready to celebrate a special occasion.

As always, the session was about far more than crafting alone, with plenty of time to chat, share ideas, and enjoy each other’s company. For new homeowner Rosemary and her daughter, it was their very first activity at Chapters. Although feeling a little apprehensive at first, Rosemary was warmly welcomed into the group and soon enjoyed getting to know new friends.

Moments like these beautifully capture the spirit of our community, where shared experiences, creativity, and connection help everyone feel right at home. 💛

🌸✨ Creative Blooms with Sugar Craft ✨🌸

Another wonderful term of Sugar Craft has come to a close, and what a beautiful way to finish.

With guidance from Georgie, homeowners Sylvia, Lesley and Lin created these stunning anemones, each one a perfect example of patience, skill, and creativity. The results speak for themselves, elegant, vibrant, and truly impressive.

Moments like these highlight the incredible talent within our community, where learning, creativity, and shared experiences come together.

🇫🇷 A Taste of France at Supper Club 🇫🇷

French Supper Club brought a touch of continental charm to the table, as homeowners enjoyed a delicious evening inspired by classic French cuisine.

Dishes included rich beef bourguignon and traditional coq au vin, served with crusty rolls, followed by a perfectly indulgent crème brûlée to finish.

With great food, warm conversation, and a relaxed atmosphere, it was a wonderful evening that captured the joy of coming together and sharing new flavours as a community. ✨💛

🎨✨ Quantock House Artists ✨🎨

When Margaret moved into Quantock House in Taunton, she brought with her a wonderful background as an art teacher, and has since enriched the community by sharing her knowledge and passion with others.

Now, Margaret guides fellow homeowners through a variety of artistic mediums, with each session offering a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon of creativity, learning, and connection.

The ladies at Mulberry House recently enjoyed a wonderful session learning the art of felting, turning soft fibres into beautiful pictures of delicate snowdrops.
