My brown furry uncomplicated companion during this mornings practice🥰
I’m still here! I know I’m quieter on social media, particularly on this page, we moved into a new studio towards the end of last year so efforts have been towards my partnership with Alex & the amazing space she’s created for our yoga community.
Our posts are generally found on our Facebook Group so please request to join if you haven’t already. We have a weekly timetable (booking link below), as well as monthly workshops & socials. Beach classes will start up from Easter too.
I also have a home studio where you can book 121 /221 & even 321’s! Get in touch if you feel yoga can help you towards your yearly aspirations.
Much love,
Hayley x

Indoor yoga is back in a beautiful new studio in Fenton Road, Southbourne. I cannot wait to teach both classes tonight😊
Last few spaces for Thursday evening & Friday morning remain, I have been asked to Zoom on Thursday & Friday too so let me know if that works better for you & we’ll ensure you can still get your yoga glow on. £9 single studio class, £15 for both Thursday’s Flow & Restorative. £7 Zoom.
My personal practice is nearly always a zoom class, I love the freedom it gives me & the ability to connect with teachers I ordinarily couldn’t. Until the Southbourne studio is ready (1st Nov!) we’ll be teaching a zoom class every Tuesday evening, 630pm. Starting from TONIGHT
Curiosity may not be your first thought especially when stronger emotions kick in but take some time out, reassess & ask questions. You may be surprised at the response you receive…💕

Taking a few days out in Devon camping with the children, making time for a short morning practice which is a priority for me now - just 20 minutes or whatever time I can afford - to simply be. The swans swimming by were tranquil. Grateful to meet this magnificent lady at a retreat last year who invited me into her camping tribe🙏🏽 Sharon Gilbert Yoga and Mindfulness

Being the eldest of 7 I can relate heavily to this. When asking how someone is don’t always take their first answer of “I’m ok” or “I’m fine”. Let’s be curious. Let’s be more honest. Let’s help each other to meet our needs💜
“The problem when you are a strong, capable, self-confident person, is that more often than not, people think that you don't really need things like comfort, reassurance, loyalty and guidance. People are more likely to look at you and say, "She doesn't need this", "She doesn't need that", "She's already all of this and all of that". But then the truth is that most probably, you are a strong, capable, self-confident person because you built yourself brick-by-brick into that person; because you HAD to BECOME that person; because you had determination enough to make yourself into the image that you knew you needed to become. At the heart of many strong, confident people, is a heart most longing of the things that most others simply take for granted.”

"And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.”

I discovered yoga in 2016 when my hectic lifestyle simply became overwhelming. I was balancing being a mum to two small children, maintaining a loving relationship with my partner & working full-time in a 19 year Corporate career as well as desperately trying to not lose my fun, outgoing personality & make time for my incredible family & friends. I was always busy, always rushing, always late & starting to feel that I was failing at it all.
I have consistently made time for physical exercise but chose to run rather than walk & would much rather have been in the gym for 30 minute HIIT sessions than spending 90 minutes in a yoga class. I never gave myself permission to slow it down, there was so much I needed to fit in!
Until one day I couldn’t carry on, I was physically & mentally exhausted & so I signed up for a beginners yoga course. What did I have to lose? Gradually I started to immerse myself in the true wonder that is yoga. It has calmed me down more than I could ever have imagined, it has allowed me to unite deeper with my loved ones, realise what self-care is & recognise what is truly important in my life.
I left my Corporate role 2 years ago, spending a year connecting with myself, for once not rushing into any immediate decisions. We made the amazing choice to go backpacking as a family around Sri Lanka & not long after our return I booked my yoga teacher training. I spent 3 weeks under the outstanding guidance of Vidya Heisel at Frog Lotus Yoga in Suryalila, Spain completing my 200 hours of Vinyasa Flow training.
My aim is to share my love of yoga with anyone that would like to experience it or is simply curious, I’d like to break down those barriers that yoga is not about touching your toes or being able to wrap your foot around your head(!) it’s not about what we look like or what we wear. Yoga has no judgement, it’s yet another one of the things I love about it. Yoga is a constant journey, there is always something to learn and it gives back so much more than what you put into it.
My teaching style starts with a gentle pranayama or breathing exercise, to ground ourselves & unite our mind & body within the space of our mat, we warm up each major joint of the body before moving into standing & subsequent floor sequences, ensuring we take each posture in our time listening to our bodies & not pushing beyond our capabilities, I will always guide the breath in & out of every posture & enjoy teaching to music. We end our practice with a restful guided Savasana where we have the chance to lie on our mat & just be beautifully present.
