ℹ️ Want to know how you can make your posts more accessible (and inclusive!)? Let me help you:
1. Add Alt Text
Alt text is a short written description of an image that screen readers can read aloud.
2. Use Proper Capitalisation in Hashtags.
Use so screen readers pronounce hashtags properly.
Instead of , write .
3. Don’t Rely on Just Emojis or Images
Screen readers don’t “see” emojis well, and some decorative fonts are unreadable. Keep your main message in plain text.
4. Add Captions to Reels and Stories.
Many people scroll without sound- and captions help deaf users too. Most platforms now offer auto-captions.
5. Mind Your Colour Contrast
Use high contrast between text and background in stories or graphics. Fancy pastel overlays might look pretty but are unreadable for many.
6. Use Descriptive Call to actions
Instead of “click here,” say “click the link in my bio to book your massage” !
And as someone who’s blind and runs a business, I can promise you: it matters.
