I am searching for one or two compassionate individuals to join my team of Personal Assistants. As a full-time wheelchair user with congenital muscular dystrophy, osteoporosis, arthritis, chronic pain, and a superpubic catheter, I cannot walk so am hoisted. Full training will be given. I require assistance to maintain my quality of life. I use a ventilator machine at night , as well as a cough assist machine in the mornings and I will provide thorough training on operating these machines. You also be administering medication to me throughout the day.
You must have a driving license and able to drive my accessible automatic van.
It is essential that you are a non-smoker. And that you can make a decent cup of tea
Living with my partner, Keegan, who is my full time personal assistant, I need additional individuals to support Keegan in caring for me, but also so he can have a break and so I can have some girly time.
I am seeking individuals who are compassionate, kind, and have a good sense of humour to help sustain my lifestyle.
The responsibilities include personal care, which includes showering, toileting, maintaining my suprapubic catheter. Helping with my beauty treatments, putting make-up on I'm doing my hair. Also household chores such as hoovering, cleaning, maintaining a clean sterile environment. You may also be asked to do the food shopping, occasional meal preparation, and walking my rescue dog when the weather is too cold for me to go outside. Being an animal lover is essential as I have a cat and dog who are my babies.
I have fairly frequent hospital visits and occasional overnight stays which I may ask you to attend with me. You will also be asked to keep track of what medication I need to order from the GP by organising the medical cupboard.
I am a fairly relaxed person who loves to spend time with friends and family. I do love going out with my friends too different events. My favourite time of year is the summer and I love to be in the Sun as much as possible, especially loves to socialise with my friends. I enjoy weekend getaways, festivals and music events.
I have a small business which keeps me busy I always need assistance with filming content for social media, packing up orders to send to customers and making sure stock is up-to-date.
Due to my health conditions I sometimes find it hard to get out of bed as I have difficulty with sleeping due to the chronic pain so sometimes I am unable to get out of bed. But I still need caring for and there is always lots to do around the house.
