Week 12 run 1… 5 miles on the plan today and I am definitely feeling that 20 miler from Sunday 😅 so this one is all about easing back in, keeping it nice and steady!

Come with me to run 20 miles!

First stop: Reading Half Marathon. The vibes were unreal, the crowd carried me, and that medal made it all worth it. I bagged a sub 2hr finish and I’m absolutely buzzing with that.

Then came the real test… 7 more miles on tired legs once the crowds disappeared. This is where it got tough. I struggled, but I didn’t crack… not until I got in the car 😂

Mad to think I was once 9st heavier, struggling to keep up with the kids. Now? They wouldn’t stand a chance keeping up with me 🤭

Another big training run as I prepare for the London Marathon, raising money for Thames Hospice in memory of my mummy, Sheila 🤍

Thames Hospice cared for her in her final days with such compassion, dignity and support for our whole family. It’s truly the most incredible place, and I want to help raise awareness for the amazing work they do for so many families in our community.

Week 11 Run 2 💖🏃‍♀️

7 mile “easy run”done today… and honestly these are the miles that matter the most.

Not every run is fast
Not every run feels amazing
But every single one is building me for London Marathon day 👊🏻

18 miles on the plan today as part of my London Marathon training 🏃‍♀️

This one was a tough run but another big step closer to race day. These long runs are where the real work happens and today was all about getting the miles done and staying focused.

A huge thank you to Bennison Fitness for sponsoring this week of my training and for actually coming out and running the miles with me today too. Simon is a brilliant running coach and personal trainer who helps runners of all abilities improve their fitness, confidence and strength.

Also massive thanks to Mandy and Kelly for the support today as well. Long runs are always easier when you’ve got good people around you 🥰

Week 10 Run 3 complete ✔️ 7 miles done.

This week’s London Marathon training runs are proudly sponsored by Bennison Fitness
Simon is a running coach and Level 3 personal trainer who helps runners of all abilities improve their running, fitness and confidence. He offers running coaching, strength and conditioning for runners, pacing work and structured training to help people become stronger, more efficient runners.

Simon also runs local group sessions including hill training on Tuesdays, a 5K training group on Thursday evenings and even a 6am run club in Bracknell for anyone who likes to get their training done before the day starts.

One thing I love about Simon’s coaching is that it proves it’s never too late to start running. I train alongside runners in their 60s who only started in their late 50s and are now completing half marathons every year and even taking on the London Marathon.

Running really is for everyone!!
