Good morning all. Today i was thinking about monumental decisions gone wrong. The captain of the titanic or the man that didn't sign Elvis Presley or the Beatles. These people were highly respected in their fields, yet when it came to those moments they will be remembered for. It all went wrong.
History is filled with military commanders making the wrong call, soldiers lives lost because of it. People in power and responsible for lives of others got it wrong resulting in the loss of lives for many civilians.
In our own daily lives, we can get it wrong too. Can we recognize we did? Is our vision blurred by ignorance, stubbornness or even worse, our own ego blinding us to whats supposed to be right or wrong.
Every day we make thousands of decisions based on a sub conscious level mostly based on auto response learned behavior. Like changing gear when driving, we no longer think about it but trust our learned behavior. Here's a shocker!!! What if we learned wrong???? What if we realize we made a wrong decision and cannot put it right. Our ego denying us the opportunity of getting it right in changing our minds?
You want to quit smoking? You want to go for that interview? Take a flight? Even as simple as take an elevator instead of the stairs??
Sometimes its personal decisions that we get wrong like staying in an abusive relationship. The biggest determining factor is fear of change, or social acceptance. Will we lose face with our friends if we go back or leave or even just accept the choices we made were flawed.
Decisions made on historic learning like driving or walking or doing a job are easily learned and adapted, but what about those that we get to make just a few times in our lives? Marriage is a classic example of was it right or wrong, yet there are no social stigma's anymore regarding divorce.
We are all here for just a short visit, is it right to live with recognizing we made a bad choice and have to live with it?
NO its never to late to make those changes.
There is always someone ready to listen, to help, Friends should accept your choices as friends really should be there as your support network. Bosses should accept you want a new job or challenge.
