Lymphatic Drainage tips to do at home!
Raise those legs!
How?
1)Lie on your back near a wall or support.
2)Raise legs vertically (hips close to the wall if using one).
3)Keep legs relaxed, not rigid.
4)Breathe slowly and deeply.
Benefits?
1. Improves circulation
Elevating the legs helps blood and lymph fluid return more easily toward the heart, which can reduce pooling in the lower limbs.
2. Reduces swelling (edema)
Useful for tired, heavy, or swollen legs, especially after long periods of standing, sitting, travel, or heat.
3. Supports lymphatic drainage
Gravity assists lymph flow from the feet and ankles toward central lymphatic pathways, which may help reduce fluid retention.
4. Relieves leg fatigue
Can ease aching calves, feet, and thighs by reducing pressure in the veins.
5. Calms the nervous system
This position tends to activate the parasympathetic (βrest and digestβ) response, promoting relaxation and stress relief.
6. May ease lower-back pressure
With proper positioning, it can gently decompress the lower spine and relax surrounding muscles.
7. Helps mild varicose vein discomfort
Temporary relief by reducing venous pressure in the legs.
