The company St Michaels Homes Ltd comprises of two elderly care homes which are adjacent to each other Howard Lodge & Dudbrook House, nestling in beautiful park-like gardens in Kelvedon Common on the outskirts of Brentwood, surrounded by beautiful Essex countryside, with abundant wildlife, including deer as regular visitors. St Michaels Homes Ltd is a family-run company. The company was established by managing director Sheila Watson in 1991 and has been handed over to her children Claire & Sean Watson. Sheila trained as a registered nurse & midwife followed by 25yrs in midwifery, followed by 5 yrs as a health advisor to the elderly & obtained a diploma in gerontology. With this experience in care of residents comes from the top down, this can be seen by the way the residents are cared for by all staff. The staff are the heart of St Michaels Homes and they are the ones who give so much and care for all our residents and we are truly so blessed with all the love and care they give to every resident at Howard Lodge and Dudbrook House. Loneliness and feeling a burden in older age is a great and growing scourge of our society. You will not find lonely people in our care homes - you will find support, companionship and strong bonds of friendship.
