IH Soft Tissue provides Sports Massage and other soft Tissue Therapies to Cambridge and Surrounding areas. IH Soft Tissue Therapy is the next chapter in the story, it was born from the desire to create a place for my lovely clients to continue their amazing progress we'd achieved together over the years. The foundation of the clinic is built around a collaborative approach where team effort is everything! The support that 'my team' has offered me to get IH Soft Tissue off the ground has been everything and I'm excited to share this chapter with you!! IH Soft Tissue Therapy is more than just sports massage, each session focuses on you and your goals helping you to move freely without pain. The sessions may involve sports massage, dry needling, dry cupping or a hands off approach may be our best course of action!! Either way this is discussed with you and reviewed at every step along the way to ensure a team effort to reach your goals!

๐Ÿ’ช Ankle Spotlight: Muscles That Move You!

Your ankles are powered by a network of muscles that control stability, movement, and balance. At IH Soft Tissue Therapy, we help keep these muscles healthy for optimal ankle function.

Key Ankle Muscles:
Gastrocnemius & Soleus (Calf Muscles): Plantarflex the foot and stabilize the ankle.

Tibialis Anterior: Dorsiflexes the foot and supports the arch.

Peroneals (Longus & Brevis): Control foot eversion and prevent ankle sprains.

Extensor & Flexor Digitorum Muscles: Assist toe movement and foot stability.

Intrinsic Foot Muscles: Support arches and fine motor control of the foot.

โœ… Soft tissue therapy targets these muscles to reduce tension, restore mobility, improve balance, and prevent injuries.

๐Ÿฆด Ankle Spotlight: Know Your Bones!

The ankle is a complex hinge joint that supports your entire body weight and allows walking, running, and jumping. Understanding its bones is key to preventing injury.

Key Bony Structures of the Ankle:
Tibia (Shinbone): The main weight-bearing bone of the lower leg.

Fibula: Provides lateral stability to the ankle.

Talus: The โ€œlinkโ€ between leg and foot that forms the ankle joint.

Calcaneus (Heel Bone): Absorbs impact and provides leverage for walking.

Navicular, Cuboid & Cuneiforms: Small bones that support arch stability and movement.

โœ… Proper alignment and mobility of these bones are essential for balance, stability, and pain-free movement. Soft tissue therapy helps maintain flexibility, reduce tension, and support ankle health.
