We've been busy behind the scenes working on our Shed Admin recently; sorry if we've been a bit quiet!
✔ Trustees are now in place.
✔ Our first AGM completed
✔ Financial planning put in place
✔ Policies updated and reviewed
✔ Grown connections with wider charity organization's
✔ Visited other Mens Sheds in the local area
✔ Fundraising options explored
✔ Activity Schedule up and running

Merry Christmas from everyone at Pencoed Men’s Shed

It’s been a very busy and rewarding year for us, from winning the Pencoed Mayoral Award, to building strong links with Pencoed Town Council and working closely with Pencoed Trailblazers. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and look forward to continuing to spread cheer and happiness throughout the year ahead.

We meet at Pencoed Pavilion every Wednesday, 18:00–20:00, and will be back after the festive break from Wednesday 7th January. New faces are always welcome.

We’re at Pencoed Welfare Hall today spreading the word about Pencoed Men’s Shed and showing some of the things we’ve been making this year.
Already got one strong endorsement - maybe we’ll see him down the shed at some point this year….

We’ve been working with resin the last few weeks. We’ve made a whole load of cool things that are perfect for stocking fillers and secret Santa gifts!
We’ll be at Pencoed Welfare Hall tomorrow for 10-2

We’re feeling proud and humbled to be receive the Mayoral Award for Merit from Pencoed Town Council for our work supporting Men’s Mental Health

We really appreciate all the support we’ve had this year and are extremely grateful for the recognition of the work we are doing in our community

We’re getting into the Christmas spirit this evening at the shed!
More Christmas boxes made up for those in need - 19 done in total!
We’ve also ventured into doing some custom resin work in time for Christmas….. watch this space!

A little late with this update but here we go…
We’ve spent the last few weeks making Christmas boxes for men in Bridgend who have suffered from Domestic Violence.
We managed to make up another 9 boxes last week which makes a total of 15 boxes
Thank you to everyone who donated and thanks to all the guys at the shed for taking the time to come along and help towards this excellent cause!

Great to see the government recognising the challenges in Men’s Health in today’s (International Men’s Day) announcement.

Our local council (Pencoed Town Council), Bridgend Council and our local representatives (Chelsea Charlene Edwards, Paul Edwards Cllr Melanie Evans, Chris Elmore MP Cllr. Alex Williams Sarah Murphy MS for Bridgend & Porthcawl) have been instrumental in supporting our group - great to see that has now been echoed by Westminster

Hopefully more men will benefit from projects like ours in the future

Very fitting that tonight at Pencoed Men’s Shed we’ll be making Christmas boxes for men in the local area who have suffered domestic violence.
