Pushing, forcing, trying to squeeze something into an unwelcoming space cannot lead to any kind of satisfaction.
Whereas, surrendering and allowing something to naturally flow into an invited space would result in generous reward.
True alignment
I am in deep contemplation of the role of therapeutic leadership, preferring this term to therapy right now, and recognising how vital it is for the person seeking therapy to be responsible for leading themselves.
The role of therapist is neither to fix nor attend to the individualās disconnected self, thereby maintaining the illusion that it, the disconnected self, is in charge.
Instead as a guide the therapist can work towards the individual recognising the disconnect ENOUGH to be able to dismiss its misaligned intentions, and themselves then begin to direct attention to the full intelligence of the true self.
Then my role in therapeutic leadership can be defined more clearly as an interpreter, a translator, deeply listening to each individualās narrative giving it understanding, relativity and relevance.
As a therapeutic leader I work to formulate strategies on an individual basis, because there is no āone size fits allā in therapy, any more than there is human to human. The mental mind loves a strategy so when aligned with the essential counterpart of the emotional intelligence, strategy becomes multi-dimensional, inclusive and productive.
This approach will continue to evolve as I explore this through conscious contemplation and meditation.
I feel as though I am coming home to something I have known for some time but not been able to grasp.
I do the inner work too.
