Jo Beddow Hypnotherapy Solution Focussed Clinical Hypnotherapy

Fully qualified (HPD) & insured therapist providing, hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy services (DSFH, HPD) mNCH & mCNHC

I founded The Good Therapy Works to provide a range of client tailored services to support our quest for a healthy mind and body. As a clinical hypnotherapist I use a Solution Focused approach, which is based on the very latest research in neuroscience to explain how the brain works, how negative thinking contributes to and even creates our anxieties, how negatively forecasting our future and retr

ospecting our past creates a host of anxiety based conditions, depression and anger issues that can dominate and negatively impact lives. Using solution focused therapy the client defines what they want to achieve or change and sets their goals. Therapy sessions take a stepped approach where week by week the client reviews positive interactions, activities and thinking in a safe, confidential, peaceful and relaxing environment. Following a free initial consultation, each week clients work on solutions rather than focusing on the problem itself, developing a picture of what they want. As a clinical therapist I use a range of safe world renowned techniques, including NLP and CBT, metaphor, trance, direct and indirect suggestion. Each session closes with a couch trance hypnosis where we work on feelings of calmness, relaxation, competence, self-confidence and esteem to support of client aims and objectives and in the words of many of my clients 'get the real me back'

Hypnotherapy is driven by a client's desire to change, this is supported and guided by me a qualified, fully insured professional therapist working to a strict ethical framework and code of conduct in my practice set in rural Somerset

I LOVE THIS ANALOGY:

You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere.
Why did you spill the coffee?
"Because someone bumped into me!!!"
Wrong answer.
You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup.
Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.
Whatevr is inside the cup is what will spill out.
Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled.
So we have to ask ourselves... “what's in my cup?"
When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratitude, peace and humility?
Anger, bitterness, victim mentality and quitting tendencies?
Life provids the cup, YOU choose how to fill it.

I was shown this really good leaflet the other day - How to stay calm in a global pandemichttps://www.hachette.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/How-to-Stay-Calm-in-a-Global-Pandemic-Free-ebook.pdf
and I thought it has some simple but super useful ideas and really clear explanations of how our body reacts to threats and danger - and what we can do about it!
