🌟 Care Home Open Week 2026! 🌟

Marton is proud to be taking part in Care Home Open Week 2026!

Running from 15–21 June, this national initiative shines a spotlight on the incredible communities within care homes and the valuable role they play in bringing people together.

With this year's World Cup football theme, our homes will be hosting a range of engaging activities for residents, families, team members, and visitors. From football-inspired games and events to welcoming local schools and sports clubs into our homes, we’re looking forward to a week filled with fun, connection, and community spirit.

Care Home Open Week provides the perfect opportunity to open our doors and demonstrate how care homes can be vibrant, welcoming places that enrich the lives of people of all ages.

We can't wait to welcome our communities and celebrate alongside them.

🌭☀️ BBQ Fun at St Helens Care Home! ☀️🌭

We all came together for a delicious barbecue, arranged by our wonderful team. Everyone tucked into burgers, hot dogs, fresh salad, and fries, with refreshing shandies and a variety of soft drinks available. 🍔🌭

Residents and staff fully embraced the spirit of the day by dressing up in grass skirts, lei necklaces, colourful hats, and sunglasses. 🌺🕶️🌴

It was a joyful day filled with good food, great company, and lots of happy memories shared together. 🎉☀️

☀️ Creativity, Celebrations and Sunshine at Half Acre House Care Home ☀️

We've been enjoying plenty of wonderful moments recently, with something for everyone to take part in!

🌸 Maureen did a fantastic job with her flower arranging, and Teresa tried her hand with some cross-stitching. They both absolutely smashed it and should be really proud of what they achieved!

☀️ When the sun has been shining, we’ve made the most of the garden! Residents have enjoyed bean bag toss, parachute games, water balloon throwing, and even some relaxed board games outdoors.

🎂 We celebrated Julie-Ann’s birthday with a special trip out to Bury. She requested a Subway sandwich, a browse around the shops, and a lovely sunny day out. Julie-Ann said it was lovely to get out for the day, especially in the sun!

🎨 We also took some time to slow things down with a relaxing painting session, giving everyone a peaceful break from the lovely sunny weather while enjoying some creativity and calm.

Jean reached an incredible milestone as she celebrated her 103rd birthday! 🥳

Staff gathered together to sing a heartfelt Happy Birthday. Jean enjoyed every moment of the celebration and blew out her birthday candles surrounded by love, laughter, and plenty of good wishes.

Not only did Lesley take on this incredible challenge, but she has also raised an amazing £490 for the Residents Fund. The money raised will help support activities, events, and special experiences for our residents to enjoy. 💖

☀️ Enjoying the Sunshine at Botham Hall Care Home ☀️

As we now have a new pop-up gazebo in the garden, more residents can enjoy sitting outside comfortably in the shade! 🌿⛱️

It’s been wonderful spending the mornings outdoors and making the most of the glorious weather. Residents enjoyed taking part in a fun quiz while relaxing with cold drinks and tasty ice lollies. The perfect way to cool down in the sunshine! 🍹🍦
